‘I Heart Mac & Cheese’ readies for launch in New Village at Patchogue

Mac & cheese lovers get ready to rejoice.

New Village’s new restaurant I Heart Mac & Cheese announced that it will be swinging its doors open on Sunday, Jan. 13.

Virgola Oysters & Italian Wine Bar hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony

There were plenty of cheers and toasts at the grand opening ceremony of Virgola Oysters & Italian Wine Bar in Patchogue.

Virgola, which specializes in Italian wine, oysters, crudo, caviar and ceviche, opened at 7 Village Green over the summer.

To celebrate, the restaurant held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday night, which grew a large crowd.

Island Empanada to add Rocky Point location by next spring

One of Long Island’s first-ever empanada restaurants is adding a new location.

Island Empanada, which has spaces in Medford and Ronkonkoma, is planning a third spot in Rocky Point. Owners say the new location at 29 Rocky Point Yaphank Road will open next spring.

The empanada-making company was founded in 2011 by Lake Ronkonkoma resident Roy Pelaez.
