#chimichanga

Dami stared down at his plate, his hands nervously clenching as he sweated. He tucked his lip back in disgust.

Damian: I’m not eating that.

The others paused their eating. Turned down to his plate. Then they all turned back to him with sharp looks of disapproval. He shook his head back in confusion.

Dick: Damian! We talked about your homophobia!

Damian blushed: I’m not talking about it looking like a-

Fingers gripped his plate. Damian’s eyes narrowed in on it. The plate was slowly dragged over across the table to, as he should have guessed, Tim. Tim maintained eye contact as he shamelessly snatched the chimichanga between his fingers, tilted his head back as he hung the food over his mouth, then partially deepthroated it as he took a giant bite.

Tim, with his mouth full and white cheese dripping down his chin: I will.

Jason, watching with big orbed otaku eyes: damn right you will.

Damian, dumbfound: fat! I was going to say because of cholesterol and fat and calories!

Dick shook his head: one day you have to wake up and face your problems Damian or you’ll never grow as a person.

Damian shrieked as he snapped: Im gay!

Jason erupted into applause: he’s left the closet guys.

Damian, sobbing: I’ve already told you guys last post! You never list-

Giggling caught their attention. The four boys slowly turned their heads in horror as they had to witness the most terrifying thing that no one should ever witness. Bruce and Clark sharing a bite of a white cheese sauced dripping chimichanga between them- lady and the tramp style- and we’re getting pretty freaky about it in their own little world.

They all shoved up off of the table. Were silent as they slowly backed away. No one ever spoke of Damian’s coming out again because this meant they’d have to relive the moment that they saw their dad being freaky.

From then on, Damian was accepted as one of them.

Bonus-

Clark, searching for a late night snack that night at two in the morning, opened his fridge. He was shocked as he saw a white styrofoam take out container. Could have sworn he’d already eaten the left overs from the boys they’d so kindly left.

He narrowed in on it, saw a small note.

To Clark, from Tim.

Ah. Tim’s broken in again. Didn’t really shock him. At least he’s stopped stealing his shoes… eh, he should probably still check.

Scanning the box, expecting a bomb of gas so that the kid could knock him out again and study him, he was pleasantly surprised to see it was a chimichanga instead. The boy must have had one left over- oh.

Ohhhh.

Clark lifted the box up. Started heading to the trash to throw it away. As he hovered it over the trash, his stomach growled. It growled loud.

He was damn hungry.

But he had heard what the boys were talking about.

But it was so good.

Ugh…

He dropped it into the trash and walked away turning the light off in the kitchen.

The clock ticked.

A loud woosh passed by as Clark dove into the trash. He pulled out the box and quickly picked up the chimichanga. It was wrong but so right as he demolished that trash food, so satisfying to his hunger he didn’t give a damn about the camera click.

He’d let the boy win if it meant free food. Someone had to sugarbaby him and his dad was sometimes tight with his wallet. Yeah. It was ok. He’d let himself tell himself that.

Strawberry Cheesecake Chimichangas 🍓

For chimichangas:

6 (8-inch) soft flour tortillas

8 oz cream cheese ( room temperature)

2 Tablespoon sour cream

1 Tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cups sliced strawberries

Vegetable oil-for frying

For coating:

1 Tablespoon cinnamon

1/3 cup sugar

Instructions

Beat cream cheese , sour cream, 1 tablespoon sugar and vanilla extract .

Fold in 3/4 cup of sliced fresh strawberries.

Divide the mixture evenly between 6 tortillas. Slather the filling in the lower third of each tortilla, fold the two sides of each tortilla toward the center and then roll the tortilla up like a burrito (secure it with a toothpicks!) .

Combine 1/3 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a shallow bowl and set aside.

Line a large plate with paper towels.

In about 5 inch deep saucepan place about 2 -2½ inch vegetable oil for frying and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 360ºF.

Fry the chimichangas until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes and flip them as needed (work in batches)

Transfer the chimichangas to the paper towel on a plate to drain for a minute, then roll them in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
