For the longest time and probably in the cannon Robert thought he was an Annoying Child. Needy, whining, didn't understand the pressure his dad was under. He saw a 9-year-old playing pretend with a new toy and thought about how his father old gifted him tools or parts for his birthday ever since he turned 8. He saw an angsty 14-year-old sitting on her phone in the corner and thought about how his father started training him on how to operate the Mecha, telling him that he had a responsibility to his city.

He finally breaks when he sees one of Flambae's cousins with her new baby, swaddled and cooed over and loved. He has to go outside and get some air because fuck his mother didn't live long enough to love him like that.

Flambae notices that his plus one has disappeared! He finds him hiding out on the patio, the rain keeping most of the party contained inside. He almost starts complaining about Robert being so boring and hiding from the fun until he sees that he's crying.

Robert, being Robert tries to collect himself. He apologizes and turns away from Chad, so he doesn't have to see it, wiping his tears away too roughly. it's the double standard. langdon pushed and pushed robby until it blew tf up. (no I don't think Robby handled it well, but I also don't think he's a villain. this is serious shit here. and he is in no capacity to be able to handle it.) Robby was much more blatant in his avoidance and Langdon still couldn't give it up— and I do think that part of the reason Robby was trying to put it off was because he knows he can't handle it.

that's the part that rubs me the wrong way. he hasn't even attempted to seek Santos out in any way, which is very different from his approach to Robby. idk man it just reminds me of s1 langdon— robby's opinion matters the most to him. his infamous scene of yelling at and berating Santos was in front of two other women, Samira and Princess, and he only stopped when a man, when Robby walked in— showing that he knew he was doing wrong. but he did not care until he was faced with robby's disapproval. Langdon had/has him on a dangerous pedestal, whereas Trinity's opinion of him doesn't really matter. (from what we've seen, duh, I'm still waiting for a full arc.)

he's trying to get things back to normal. back to how they were, like a redo. wants to be in Robby's good graces too desperately. those small attempts to rementor Santos even though it is much too late. and I've seen takes that she was "humiliating" him.... she was cold, and shut him down, which is understandable. there was no humiliation. joy does not know their history so she doesn't know wtf is going on just that there's something going on. humiliation is just... too strong of a term.

this is again, probably the messiest and most nuanced situation in the show. villainizing addicts is gross, but holding them accountable is needed. Santos and Robby are his biggest stressors, but he is their biggest stressor. it is canonical that Langdon is Santos's "danger."

Okay, yes! You are cooking here, I would also like to add (at least to my remembrance) Steve didn’t know that Peter was a fucking kid. Like sure he was skinny-ish, and he had kind of a high voice, but who else was skinny and looked like a 12-year-old well into his years, Steve!
