Who I Was (MarkxReader) Pt.7 *Final chapter*
Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt.3, Pt.4, Pt.5 ,Pt.6
“Okay, look, Mark. Get it together, and stop being a pathetic piece of shit. You did this to yourself, you knew the outcome of this, it’s your fault, so you need to deal with it.” Jackson said, as soon as he found Mark, sulking outside in the back of the hotel.
“Yeah, you think I don’t know that!? I do, Jackson!! Especially when everyone keeps repeating it!” Mark yelled, angry at first, but then sounding more defeated as his sentence went on.
“Whatever, Mark, I’m not gonna fight with you, because it’s a waste of my time. Get your sorry ass up, and get ready for practice, we leave in fifteen.” Jackson said, before making his way back into the hotel, and leaving Mark alone.
Mark waited for a few seconds, and sighed. He stood up from his spot on the ground, and slowly made his way back to his room, getting dressed for practice.
Outside of the hotel, there were a bunch of fans waiting for the boys. When they got outside, the fans immediately started to ask Mark what that picture was about, and who the girl was in it. The security guards quickly pushed through the crowd, and helped the boys get into the cars safely, so they could get to practice.
Two days past, and it was time for the concert. The boys were performing, and during Mark’s part in Fly, he noticed the signs that some of the fans were holding up.
‘MARK, YOU’RE A CHEATER.’ They read.
He was able to continue performing, but at the end, while everyone was saying goodbye, Mark noticed the fans pointing at him, and whispering. He could tell they weren’t whispering about good things either, due to the look on their faces. JB was the last to say bye, but Mark could no longer stand there, and he quickly left the stage. Jackson noticed this, and followed behind him, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
“What the fuck is wrong with you!?” Jackson says, making Mark look at him.
“Look, I’m just having a really hard time. Just leave me alone.” Mark says, angrily walking off.
“I’m not leaving you alone.” Jackson yells, stopping him, by grabbing his shoulder, and making him face him. “Look, don’t put everybody else down, because you screwed up.” Jackson says.
“It’s not my fault your best friend’s a whore!” Mark yells, getting in Jackson’s face.
“What the fuck did you just say?” Jackson tensed up, clenching his fists. He looked behind Mark, and saw the saddest look on your face, and without thinking, he punched Mark right in the face.
Mark and Jackson started to full on fist fight in the middle of the backstage area. The other boys, who were still on the stage, saw this from the corner of their eyes, and ran off the stage to stop the fight. Jinyoung pulled you away from everyone, when he saw that you were frozen in panic.
“Guys, stop! This isn’t the way to handle this!” Youngjae yelled.
No one realized that the mics were still on, and the audience could hear everything. JB and he manager managed to pull the two apart from each other.
“Turn the mics off!” The manager yells to the staff. When the staff turned off the mics, the manager slapped both Mark and Jackson. “What the hell is wrong with you two?” He whispered/yelled. “You both need to get your shit together, thousands of people just heard this whole thing! There’s probably going to be so much talk about this.” He held the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
Jackson and Mark looked at the ground. Jackson glared at Mark for a second, and felt anger rush through his body.
“I guess we’ll have to cancel the fan signing. We’re gonna have to reschedule it for tomorrow morning. Go home.” The manager said, in a stern tone. Everyone stood there for a second, unsure if he meant it. “Now!” He yelled, causing everyone to take off their mics, and leave the building.
After we all got to the hotel, everyone had gone to their room quickly. Before I could make it to mine, Mark stopped me.
“Hey, (Y/N)-” He started, but I slapped him before he could say anything else. Mark looked at me, shocked, as he held his cheek.
“Come on, let’s get you to your room.” Youngjae said, seeing everything, and leading me away from Mark.
Youngjae walked me to my room, and hugged me before leaving. Harper gave me a sympathetic look as I walked to my bed, and sat down.
“He didn’t mean it, you know he didn’t.” She said, moving to my bed as well. “He’s just upset. We all just need to calm down.” She said. I buried my head in my hands and let out a long sigh. There was a knock at the door, and Harper got up to get it.
“Hey...” Jackson walked inside, and took Harper’s place sitting next to me. “Can I have a moment with her, please?” He asked. Harper nodded, and left the room quietly, leaving the two of us alone. “Don’t worry about him, okay? He’s stupid and he had no right in calling you such things.” Jackson said, putting his hand on my shoulder.
I sat up completely, and sniffled, wiping away a stray tear that was falling down my cheek. “It’s true though.” I said, in a soft voice.
“No, it’s not! You are far from a whore, and you know that. None of this was your fault, it’s his. So stop blaming yourself.” He said, holding my hand now. “Forget about Mark, okay? He’s not the only guy out there. Boys are assholes anyways.”
A few days passed, and the tour continued. We were in LA now, this being our last stop before we had to go back to Korea. I’ve been avoiding Mark this whole time. I’ve never talked to him, or looked at him, or anything for that matter. One day, however, he found me in the lobby of the hotel, as I was just coming back from the convenient store.
“(Y/N)!” He called, starting to walk up to me.
I looked at him for a second, and turned to walk away before he could get to me. “Wait!” He called again, now jogging my way.
I walked as fast as I could down the hallway, and pressed the up button to the elevator, but it was taking it’s sweet time, and Mark was starting to catch up to me. I decided to use the stairs. As soon as I got through the door, Mark caught up to me, and grabbed my arm to stop me from going anywhere. I’m scared that if I even glance at him, I’ll cry.
“Let go of me.” I said, trying to break free from his grasp.
He pushed me against the wall, and put his hands on either side of me, making sure I couldn’t go anywhere. “Stop avoiding me.” He said, seriously.
“I’m not.” I said so quietly, I could barely hear myself.
“Bullshit. You know what you’re doing. Before this whole thing, we were great friends. I want that again.” He said, a desperate look on his face.
“We had sex. Way more than just once, Mark. You can’t just come back from that!” I whispered/yelled. “Plus, you called me a whore. Friends don’t do that.” I was already on the verge of tears, like I thought I would be.
“I know, I’m so sorry about that. I didn’t mean it, it was stupid... I was just so upset, I needed someone to blame. If anyone is a whore, it’s me, because you’re far from it.” He said.
“Jackson doesn’t want me talking to you...” I said, looking away from him.
Mark let out a huff. “Jackson isn’t your owner.” He said, rolling his eyes. “I’ve lost Sora, I can’t lose you too.” His voice shook a little.
“That’s your fault!” I yelled, pushing him away from me. “I don’t wanna hear your excuses anymore. What we did was wrong and stupid, and I hope you learn from this.” I said, starting to leave, but Mark grabbed me again, and pulled me back against the wall.
“I have, okay? I know what I did was wrong. I’ve paid enough for it, don’t you think?” Mark’s voice was raising with every word he said.
“I don’t think so.” I said, crossing my arms.
“... You’re right... I deserve a lot worse.” He said, hanging his head.
“Do you know that fans have been all over my instagram and Twitter and every other social media of mine? Calling me whore and other hurtful names? I had to delete everything! How am I supposed to face everyone at my studio after this?” I said, tears rushing down my cheeks now.
“I know, I’m so sorry.” Was all he could say.
“Stop saying that. It’s lost all meaning by now.”
“Just, please forgive me.” He begged, putting his head on my shoulder. “Please.” He repeated.
I sighed, and lifted his head up. “I can’t.” I whisper. “I’m trying to hate you, staying away from you is the best thing I can think of to keep my hatred.” I say.
“Please don’t hate me.” Mark pleaded.
“What else am I supposed to do?” I asked, trying to stop the tears, but they just kept coming.
“(Y/N), I know you’re not over any of this... And to be honest, neither am I. I can’t stop thinking about you. I need you, (Y/N). So much.” He said, looking me in the eyes. We stayed silent for a split second, until he leaned in and kissed me. I pulled away quickly, and looked away from him.
“Mark...” I shook my head a little, trying to move away from him, but he grabbed my face, and started kissing me again, slow this time. I couldn’t help but to kiss him back, causing him to smile into the kiss. His hands started traveling my body, making things escalate quickly.
“Room.” Mark said, pulling away, and grabbing me hand, leading me to his room. As soon as the door closed, our lips connected again. No matter how much I wanted this to stop, my body wouldn’t listen. Mark’s hands found the bottom of my shirt, and he lifted it over my head. He reached to unhook my bra, but as he did, the door opened, and Jackson walked in the room.
“Jackson!” I yelled, hiding behind Mark.
“What the hell!? I told you not to talk to him!” Jackson yelled angrily. He pulled me away from Mark, not caring that I was half naked.
“Okay? Okay!? No, it’s not! Have you not learned from the first time!? Do you not remember what he’s called you!?” Jackson yelled.
“Why do you keep running after her!? She’s not your toy!” Jackson continued to yell, focusing his attention on Mark now.
“No she’s not, and she’s not yours either!” Mark yelled. “Stop treating her like a child, she can do whatever she wants.” He said, a little calmer now.
“You’re not one of the things I’m gonna let her do.” Jackson says, staring Mark down.
“Jackson, just get out! I’ll do whoever and whatever I want!” I yelled, stepping away from Jackson.
Jackson looked at me with a disappointed look. “Fine. Fuck whoever you want to.” He says, walking out of the room, and slamming the door behind him.
“Fine, I will!” I yelled at the door, throwing my shirt at it as hard as I could. I turned back to Mark, and started kissing him, hard this time, anger and adrenaline flowing through me.
“Are you sure about this?” Mark asked, looking at me seriously. I nodded and leaned back in, kissing him.
The next morning, I look over at Mark, who was still sleeping. The events from last night came back to me, making me sigh. I ran my fingers through my hair, and got out of the bed, quiety putting my clothes back on.
I need to get out of here. I thought, leaving the room and making my way to my room, where Harper and Jackson were sleeping.
I stopped to look at Jackson, who was peacefully sleeping. “I’m sorry.” I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek, before grabbing my stuff and leaving the hotel. I caught a taxi, telling him to take me to the airport. Looking at my phone, I blocked all of the boys and Harper, knowing they would be blowing up my phone when they realize that I’m gone. I don’t plan on talking to any of them for a long time.
When I got to the airport, I asked for the first available ticket to Korea, and as soon as I got home, I packed everything up, and just left. Since I lived across the street from the dorms, there was no way I could stay at that apartment. I couldn’t face Jackson after our fight, or Mark after everything that’s happened, it was all too soon for me. Instead, I moved away, leaving my studio behind, leaving Jackson behind.
For a long time, I stayed at my parents house back in the U.S., but after a few years, I decided to move back to Korea, genuinely missing the culture and the people.
There was a new restaurant that I’ve been told multiple times to go to, so what better day than my first day back to go?
As I waited outside for my name to be called to be seated, someone tapped my shoulder. I looked up from my phone, to be met with a very attractive individual, if I do say so myself.
He smiled at me, his eyes basically sparkling. The way the lights from the restaurant illuminated him in the darkness of the night, was like something straight out of a movie, and the first words he said to me, almost made me fall in love with him instantly.
