IT’S AN UNUSUAL SITUATION - even though shadowhunters are trained to face the unexpected, and to take it all in their stride, emma was still figuring out how to approach jem carstairs. so she’s surprisingly EARNEST in this moment, even though she rarely is. but this was something important to her. she wanted it to work out with jem, she wanted that very, very badly. ❛ jem, I’m really glad you came to find me, even though you didn’t have to. and I’m really happy you’re coming to l.a. I wasn’t expecting to get a SECOND CHANCE with family. ❜
