Art Nouveau is noted for its depictions of women, usually long dressed beauties. An elaborate bodice adornment shown above features the quintessential Art Nouveau woman made of gold, enamel, emerald, and baroque pearl piece painted on mother-of-pearl. This piece is a combined effort by: Czech-born Alphonse Mucha, and goldsmith Georges Fouquet. (1870s)
