Bug Bite
by Hasbro (2020)
Bug Bite is another Botcon original (sort of) making his way out to the online retail world. Botcon 2007 the exclusive figures and comic book was titled ‘Games of Deception’ and Bug Bite (the toy) was a recolored Classic Bumblebee.
He was one of the star characters of that story, who had several mind controlled Decepticons under his command and was attempting to assassinate Megatron.
That’s a brief background of this Renagade Decepticon...Emphasis on the word Renagade, considering Bug Bite is actually a dimension-hopping Gobot.
Vehicle Mode:
Bug Bite’s vehicle mode is a white sedan (Earthrise Cliffjumper) with the new mercenary faction badge.
Robot Mode:
Bug Bite in robot mode (aside from being cast in white plastic) is no different from Cliffjumper’s body with a Bumblebee head sculpt.
He holds his bazooka and shield well. So there’s that.
Final Thoughts:
Bug Bite is a fun figure. It’s a nice reference to an Botcon exclusive, which would be hard to get these days for modern collectors. That’s it; that’s all I got.
