yes! ive been into pokemon since i was a kid but only recently got into collecting the cards! my favourite pokemon are: charcadet line (especially ceruledge), tandemaus/maushold, tinkatink line, dreepy line, sewaddle line and applin line. i mostly collect the connecting cards though, illustration rares or otherwise, as well as art from my fave artists (osare, shibuzoh, hyogonosuke and tomokazu komiya). i like collecting the common/uncommon cards that spread the stories across a few cards or even sets!

ooh all of those soft dialogue prompts are so good. i think my favourites are 17 and 26 though because i’m a sucker for comfort/caring dialogue...
17. “I’m fine, honest.” “Let me see.” and 26. “Just breathe. Like that. That’s it.”
hope this works for you :)

Dinner is most definitely going according to plan.
There’s a reason they allot an extra twenty minutes for various and sundry distractions, detours, and general foolishness that two grown women should really be above during meal preparation. Last week, it was Jamie entirely forgetting how to rinse iceberg lettuce, which resulted in a moderately amusing lecture Jamie paid absolutely no attention to if tonight’s salad is any indication.
She grips the knife in one hand, the other hovering over the head of lettuce on the distressingly blue cutting board they’d picked up a month or so prior. Dani stirs the pan on the stovetop, face placid, a mixture of chopped onions and diced garlic wafting a delightful aroma. A record plays softly on the turntable in the living room, accompanied by the pleasant sizzle of the food in the kitchen.
Jamie had declined Dani’s amused assistance, shrugging her off with a grumble and a huff of I hack weeds with giant scissors; I can handle the bloody salad.
She is now, however, regretting her decision, the angle of the knife having been just a bit off when she sliced downward. A line of red pools in the blade’s path, streaking lightly across the pads of her index and middle fingers on her left hand, and Jamie bites back a yelp. She sets the knife down, abandoning the lettuce. Her breath comes out as a strangled hiss.
“Alright?” Dani asks, glancing up, brow quirked. She zeroes in on the hand hastily hidden behind Jamie’s back and drops her spoon on the plate, clicking off the burner. “Let me see.” She holds her palm out expectantly.
“I’m fine, honest,” Jamie objects, hoping her voice remains steady despite the jolt of adrenaline that has her heart beating out of her chest. “Really, it’s nothing.”
Dani is noticeably unimpressed. Sauntering across the small space, she tugs gently on Jamie’s arm until she allows her to bring it under the kitchen light. “Jesus,” she whispers, eyes flicking from Jamie to the cut and back again, “This isn’t nothing.”
“’S not as bad as it looks,” Jamie protests, obstinately refusing to look down. She’s not entirely incorrect. Rivulets of blood have dripped down her hand, creating a gruesome mess far more alarming than the shallow cut from which it stemmed. With a glare that might have been intimidating had Jamie not learned to read her across their time together, Dani wraps a damp paper towel around the affected fingers, holding it above Jamie’s heart.
“We’re getting the first aid kit.”
Dani leaves no room for argument, not that Jamie would or could challenge her given she can’t particularly bear to look at her own hand at the moment. A bit of blood she can handle just fine, thanks. Scratches, paper cuts, skinned knees, and the like she can manage on her own. Pooling blood’s a different story. Should be inside the body. Feels wrong seeing it out.
The bathroom light flicks on, and Dani releases her to rummage in the cabinet beneath the sink for antiseptic and bandages, and Jamie settles on the closed lid of the toilet. A bottle of rubbing alcohol lands on the sink, and Dani ducks out of the cupboard with a pair of rubber gloves.
“You can start rinsing your hand off.”
Jamie shakes her head quickly, and a crease forms in Dani’s forehead.
“Okay,” Dani says, lips pursed, “okay, one second.” She removes another box from the depths and rises, guiding Jamie to stand beside her in front of the mirror. “Not good with blood?”
Again, Jamie shakes her head.
“I feel like I’ve seen you deal with blood before.” She unwraps the paper towel, now stained red in places. Jamie blanches.
“Don’t like knives,” Jamie mumbles, eyes shut tight. She hears the faucet turn on, and Dani’s gentle touch nudges her hand beneath the steady stream. “Blood is fine, ‘cept when there’s a lot-- ah--” She whimpers as the cool water makes contact.
“Just breathe. Like that. That’s it,” Dani murmurs sympathetically, massaging the red from the creases of Jamie’s palm. “It’s really not that bad,” she says, inspecting the cut.
“Told you.”
“You did.” She dabs a bit of antiseptic on a clean cloth. “Sorry about this.”
“Jesus fuck,” Jamie spits, every muscle tensing as the pain in her fingers flares.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry,” Dani grimaces, reaching for two bandages. “But you don’t need stitches.”
“Oh, joy,” Jamie grinds out. “How d’you know?”
“We all had to do basic first aid training when I was a teacher in case a kid got hurt.”
“’S that make me a kid?”
“Nope. Makes you human.” She secures the wrap around Jamie’s fingers, gathering the trash. “You should be all set.”
Jamie warily opens one eye. There is no trace of her acerbic mishap save the beige adhesive on her hand, and she sags into Dani. “Thank you,” she whispers, tucking her face into Dani’s neck.
Surprised, Dani almost stumbles back. “Of course,” she replies hesitantly. “Are you... alright?”
“Yeah,” Jamie says, with a shuddering breath. “Just hungry.”
“If you’re sure,” Dani says cautiously. “How about I do the salad, huh?”
hello! i really love how the date fic shows dani is still dealing with some repression - that even though she knows who she is and who she loves, she still has some stuff to work through. while i love unashamed thirsty dani, i also love to see her grow and learn at a more slower pace. i find it realistic and reassuring to read that it’s not instant for dani and that it’s normal for it to take some time. anyway i wanted to say thank you for including this in your fic! it’s nice to see as it’s something i’ve been thinking about for a little while now.
I’m glad! I hope I get a good balance most of the time between thirsty and figuring-it-out when it comes to Dani. She’s got a lot going on. And Jamie is such a patient figure with her, it’s really interesting exploring how they’d come together with such different levels of experience and acceptance of identity. I know the Viola of it all is largely a metaphor for mental illness and trauma and dementia, but I also think the haunted thing is a good metaphor for how they come to the relationship--how Dani’s got baggage Jamie either doesn’t have, or has already figured out earlier in life/through therapy, and while Jamie can’t take any of this baggage from her, she can stay by her side and help her through the rough patches. It just works on so many levels.
ok but now i have to know. what event led to ‘horny is not an emergency’ and/or how many times did viola and dani fuck after they broke up for dani to change her contacts?? these are extreme measures.
omg i forgot i haven’t made an exes au post for a hot minute but in our main canon (canon of a shitpost au… i know…) tl;dr we had this whole messy thing where dani and viola are ABSOLUTELY NOT on the same page after they break up where dani thinks she’s hashtag empowered fucking her ex and viola thinks they’re taking it slow. it’s Terrible
