Recently i've read "the sun lights up your eyes (when you look at me)", yhe pickleball au and omg it is so so good. It features Mira and Rumi (but they are all together Zoey just isn't there), it is so charming and as much as i love the Rumi blender, i really loved seeing her act so light and like a brat and you can see how much Mira loves her and their dynamic is so playful and swee. It's such a lighthearted charming fic

As Mira watches, she shrugs off her cropped zip-up, revealing the matching form-fitting tank underneath, and. Well. Rumi’s all lean muscle and smooth skin, patterns arcing delicate and nacreous along her body, which is. Distracting, to be sure. But not quite distracting enough to draw attention away from the very loud red paddle she’s now holding up like a particularly athletic, overenthusiastic bidder. Or distracting enough to make Mira forget about this god-awful situation her girlfriend had dragged her into. “Pickleball!” Rumi announces happily, and Mira briefly contemplates death and the sweet, quiet relief it would bring.

what do you think the girls’ D&D alignments are
now this is what i'm talking about.
it's also actually super hard because i think they're all some flavour of neutral-chaotic good. like, i'm a big fan of the idea of a semi-sentient honmoon that chooses its hunters and it only chooses people who are the sort of people who'd regularly risk their lives to save people knowing they'd never be thanked for that, but i'm leaning towards this:
Rumi as Lawful Good to start with but Neutral Good by the end. she believes completely in the rules set by Celine but she's willing to change her mind on that when something shakes the foundations of those beliefs.
Zoey as Neutral Good. she'll follow the rules if she can, but she's not completely beholden to them. it's more important that she's doing the right thing.
Mira as Chaotic Good. i feel like she genuinely does not care about the rules, she just cares about people. when she was younger she probably broke rules just to break them but as an adult i think she has her own moral code, but her priority is always the safety of the people she loves.
OK, so what are their classes?
Zoey I think clearly has the highest DEX of all of them, so I'd say monk or rogue, but I lean rogue.
Rumi I see as a highly minmaxed fighter build.
Mira... my gut says paladin, but I could be persuaded otherwise.
rogue tracks for Zoey but i'd argue Rumi is a bard or paladin rather than a fighter. Mira's harder to pin down i think, but i always like the idea of her being more of a support/crowd control kind of person, so paladin could work, or maybe some sort of ranger?
one of my absolute favorite rumi headcanons is that she refuses to do any introspection beyond the bare minimum into her sexuality/gender until she seals the honmoon.
like she Notices a boy for the first time when she’s like 15, and goes “hmm interesting” and immediately moves on because that’s not helpful for being an idol or hunting demons. she then Notices a girl like a year later and goes “oh. both? okay” and moves on bc that’s still not useful to being an idol or demon hunting. she realizes she may have feelings for zoey/mira and goes i’ll just put a pin in thinking about that until my patterns are gone.” she sees a megathread like “10 reasons why rumi might be trans” and just goes “huh maybe i’ll figure that out later” bc who cares about gender when you’re trying to save the world and yourself. like, genuinely just too employed to figure it out.
zoey and mira gently try to feel her out about different things before the events of the movie bc they just can’t get a read on her, and eventually they just flat out ask if rumi’s gay or straight and she’s just like “maybe?” and walks away to work on their newest song or train.
like it’s not quite repression because she is acknowledging the possibilities but she’s very much not putting any further thought into it
oh i can definitely see that. she's got so much to focus on that attraction and gender introspection just aren't useful for her to analyse about herself
Zoey and Mira definitely had multiple emergency meetings about Rumi's sexuality only for Rumi to shrug and say "yeah probably"

top underappreciated things about each of the girls?
i'm actually kinda stumped on this one. i think how loving and forgiving Rumi is gets a little lost sometimes? but i don't think any part of them is super underappreciated in the fandom
I love the idea that Rumi loves rules, she know how to function in them, she is an overachiever and a hardworker and stubborn so she is going to master whatever it is that has clear rules, that's why she would be almost perfect in everything that has to do with media and interviews and stuff.
absolutely. the problem she'd run into is when something isn't going the way she expects.
what i'm saying is she's probably also a little bit autistic
