Between fridgetrix, jamtrix, souptrix and whatnot, I may have been struck with inspiration
my wife and I spent the afternoon in the kitchen making globi, an ancient Roman snack. We followed Max Miller's recipe for the first batch and then I added a bit of sweetness to the dough. They turned out wonderfully! Who knew ricotta and flour would make a nice, almost hush puppy consistency dough.
I rolled them out into 15g balls because the 30g ball I tried at first was too big. His recipe says cook for 60 - 90 seconds, but he also has a gas burner. Ours took closer to 5 minutes at 325 to get fully done in the middle.
They float when they're finished!
And here's the final product. Wonderfully easy and surprisingly tasty. I would recommend modifying the recipe to add sweetness, I did 15g of morena sugar.
@norma-jean-monster got me Max's Tasting History cookbook for my birthday, so I was eager to try a recipe.
