from /r/vexillology Top comment: It is black and gold because in my city there are streets and parks and a festival named after Black Gold (aka Oil). Glenpool was made because of the discovery of an oil pool, and it was originally called Glenn Pool, because a Native American woman, Ida Glenn, owned the land the oil was on. The triangle and line are supposed to represent an oil derrick.
