A Monoglot's Railway Map of Glasgow & West Scotland
After David Mundell’s attempts to re-brand Scotland out of the Scottish Office, we speculated about what a further de-Scottishification process might look like – “Welcome to the Beautiful Beautiful Banks of Lake Lomond” – “Go in search of the Lake Ness Monster” – “read about the Massacre of the Valley of Coe” etc.

Alison Thewliss on X:
💛 I'm proud to be the SNP candidate for Glasgow Central. It's been an honour to campaign across this new constituency, and have so many conversations on the doors.
🗳️🗳️ Make it Both Votes SNP on the 7th of May.

glasgow will never be the same again
the first g2 stock trains were built in 1977, they entered service in 1980 and became a fundamental part of the city over the next 44 and a bit years. grew up going on those trains, comfy, loud, aging, characterfull, ionic.
but in december 2023 the first g3 stock entered service, and the old g2s started really showing their age and breaking down what felt like every few days.
then today was the very last day of service for the trains which defined the city, at least to me, but with virtually no fanfare
the city won't be the same again and the g2 stock will be missed
128 'Tony Curran' is at riverside, but and least most of the rest are getting scrapped
so in memory of the g2 trains 1977-2024
