someone who toddled unexpectedly into my life eleven years ago and became my rock. someone i could hold onto oh so tightly when the weight of the world was crushing me. someone who fell asleep at my side every night, and kept me warm through many winters. someone who i could never be upset with for long. someone whose little waggles never failed to put a smile on my face. someone who begrudgingly accepted kisses on the nose, and curled in for kisses on the head. someone who let out a big sigh before she went to sleep at night that filled me with security and peace. someone who poked me in the arm with a cold, wet snout while working at my desk because god forbid they go five seconds without attention. someone who went mad when she heard the door knock or the window tap. someone who stared at me intensely anytime i had food in my hand. someone who kept me upright when i lost my childhood dog at nineteen.

someone who, in their last moments, showed me every shred of their love, and let me show them every shred of mine.

oh my darling girl, what do i do now? how do i go on?
