// When we have glandular fever, it’s time to get crafty! Today I made a cushion in honour to Hulk, first thing I’ve sewed in a while and I’m very happy with it! // * * * #thehulk #ill #glandularfever #avengers #sewing #green #black #knitting #wool #cushion #wadding #blogger #lifestyleblogger (at Restalrig, Edinburgh) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2SDlQYg6UH/?igshid=urvb7x0ovy2f

The Kissing Disease That Ruined My Life
Before I begin I just want to let everyone know that my life is not actually ruined and I have quite a nice life, but the title is still very fitting to this post. Alright so, anybody who has ever been blessed with Glandular Fever (Also known as the kissing disease) will know exactly where I am coming from. Glandular Fever
'I'll pick you up, and you won't have to worry about being tired' 'We'll just have a quite night in' Everyone trying to be so kind, But honestly, they don't realize Without having had this disease They can't realize. I'm so fucking tired. Standing wears me out. And I'm sorry I barely speak To your parents, but the very Act of holding conversation is So damn exhausting. I need to lay down. And I want to hang out. And laugh. And play pool and go bowling. And drive home at 3 am. But I can't. And it makes me angry. Because I'm young. And should be doing things like that. Things that make me smile. Instead I'm at home. On a couch or bed, constantly napping.
I had glandular fever for a long time a couple of years ago- the recovery process was extremely frustrating and long and during that time I began to feel really low. Ever since then I have days or hours where I just feel so sad I don't know what to do with myself. It's not a constant sadness so I don't think it's very serious but I was just wondering if you have any advice on how I can make it go away?
Hey there Sweet pea! Xo
Feeling down for no good reason always sucks! It definitely sounds to me like it’s something you should mention your doctor, while it may be nothing, it may also be something he/she can help you out with!
When I’m feeling down I like to get my mind and hands active! Maybe try something new like card making, knitting or drawing. I recently decided to learn the ukulele and it’s so distracting! There’s also a whole bunch of distractions here that are really fabulous! It all depends on what you’re into and what’s going to work for you but I also find that getting out of the house helps! Recently I’ve been learning a lot about cars and I’ve also started walking my dog and it really helps me to take my mind of things. I also really like things like this because you get a sense of achievement from it! You can look back and say wow I saved $$ because I did that on my car myself or I walked this far today, maybe I can walk a little further tomorrow!
It’s important to make sure you stay on top of a healthy sleep pattern and eating pattern when you’re feeling this way because it’s really easy to let these things slip and if they do slip, it can contribute to making things worse!
Soldier on!
