I had to redraw the preliminary sketch so many times, the perspective here was something crazy. I've never worked so much on a preliminary like with this one, and yet there are so many mistakes 🙄

So I’m doing this thing. I’m doing it with writing, because I’ve just experienced my worst writing year (by wordcount) since 2014. And that’s when I was in the middle of probably the worst depressive episode I’ve ever endured so like... this year was hard.

My goal every year is to try to hit my published record (which is still 2015 at over 250k words... I’ve come close to that again, but never hit it). After this year where I barely squeaked past 100k, at the last minute and at great expense, I’m setting a more reasonable and hopefully achievable goal for next year. I just gotta do better than 2020.

I’d started this year with a kickass pace! I was set to blow 2015 out of the water! And then March happened.... and then next thing we knew it was November and now there’s only like two days left in the year. So 2021... I’m not setting an unreasonable goal here, I am just shooting for consistency and persistence. I’ll be posting weekly updates to this as the year goes on, and I guess since I posted this on a Monday, that’ll be a convenient reminder to me to keep up with the accountability posts. They’ll all be tagged #GISHPersonalChallenge, but they’ll only happen once a week anyway.
