#ghosts fic

She’s still probably gonna be a southerner. But I don’t think she’s a DuPont anymore. Not with Jacqueline Toboni’s face.

And if she is Louisianan, she’s definitely not Cajun.

But her being a southerner is very important to her character and a running theme of her hiding and forgetting things about herself because her identity as a racing driver has taken priority over everything in her life. And now that her career and everything she’s lived for has been ripped from her hands, she’s having to essentially re-discover key details about herself.

Hi everyone! I’m making this post about my fic, Until Tomorrow (which is apart of a series of works called Timeless), so people can easily follow along with the story! I don’t think it’s that confusing, but I’ve never written something this complicated before (plot wise) and wanted to make a post with some explanations in case anyone ever gets lost with it (and to remind myself what the fuck I’m writing lmao).

Please note that this post has some plot spoilers in it, so if you haven’t read chapter 3 yet, go do so!

What happened?

During their yearly Halloween seance, the ghosts are thrown back into 1996.

How/Why did it happen?

The main reason given in the fic is because Trevor didn’t close his eyes during the seance, however on a deeper level it’s because of his unresolved feelings for Hetty after their breakup.

Not to give too much away, but this will be similar for the next fic (Hetty’s timeline).

What are the new rules?

Things the ghosts can do now:

Touch stuff.

Change clothes.

Be seen by the living.

Touch / be touched by the living.

Leave the property*

Things the ghosts can’t do:

Cocaine (sorry Hetty).

Eat / drink.

Go through walls, doors etc.

Rules on leaving the property

Ghosts can only leave the property with Trevor. They must be touching him in some way when crossing over the boundary for it to work.

Only one ghost can go with him at a time.

Trevor now has his own personal ghost boundary. Whoever he takes with him can not be more than 5 feet away from him, or else they just teleport back to him.

After 24 hours they start to disappear (Pete can go for longer because he’s become accustomed to it and it’s his power).

What’s happening in the timeline canon wise?

To put the timeline simply, this takes place after season 3 except Holes Are Bad didn’t happen. I did this because I wanted Pete to know about his power but I didn’t want anyone to know about Hetty’s cause of death just yet. I also didn’t want Power Friends to be a thing because the whole conflict of the fic is the unresolved feelings between Hetty and Trevor.

Did they actually go back in time or is this an alternate universe?

This is an alternate universe. They aren’t changing the past, so nothing they do is gonna create a time paradox or anything (that shit is way too complicated for me to write. I am a simple woman).

I think that outlines most things for now. Please note that this post may be ever changing and evolving as the story goes on (but the lore that I've created will stay the same and is now set in stone).

A dry, humorless laugh escaped past the man's tanned, chapped lips, sending a violent shiver down the woman's spine.

"The bastards threw me in the pit, violent yet resilient. There was much more that happened in that ground than I'd care to admit. Torture along with isolation, abuse, men doing ungodly things to me when no one dared look. I had to come out eventually though, they had to see if their investment paid off." He spat, glaring heatedly at the floor, brown eyes filled beyond the brim of hatred and malice. "They had to put a muzzle around my mouth, I ripped one of their throats out with my teeth." Another dry laugh, his fingers touching his lips briefly as he seemed to reminisce. "I still remember the taste of his blood dripping down my throat...a rather erotic affair, in many ways. To have felt and tasted something other than poison and pain after so long...I…rather enjoyed it."

She swallowed, hard. Her hands which once took notes, now lay in her lap shaky and full of swest, clutching her red ballpoint pen desperately.

"My lack of control," he continues. "animalistic noises, reactions that are not unlike that of a brutally trained guard dog. I think I understand why I often find myself referred to as Rorke's rabid dog." He laughs with faint humor this time, his stoic expression and burning eyes an almost terrifying sight for her. Who the hell did they think they were to shove her here with a mad man. Who was this Logan Walker Commander Rorke had spoken of? Whoever he once was, lay dead and rotting at this man's feet.

He meets her gaze then, hard face tuning soft for but a moment, a malicious grin ruining the facade meer seconds after. "They are nowhere near prepared enough for what they dragged from that pit." She gulps at his sharp tooth grin. "Don't worry, lamb, this wolf can tell the different between his kind and yours." He stands then, and she lets out a shameful shriek, holding her pen in front of her as if it could save her life.

Another laugh leaves his lips, and she realizes none sounded as genuine as this one did. It was almost, warm. "Tell Gabe I'm fit for duty." He steps forward, smiling down at the terrified woman. "He won't be as kind to you if you don't." With that, he's gone, as silent as he came when she first had him summoned.

Alison feels nauseous for a week and can't tell why and she starts to stop hearing and seeing the ghosts around so she panics and feels really sad about it and Mike can't do anything and feels sad for her too though is very supportive, and one morning out of a sudden idea she takes a pregnancy test and it's positive and Mike is super happy at the news (after fainting first) and the ghosts are extatic and for months she communicates with them through (very slow) means like Julian typing on the laptop or whatever and at one point Pat goes "You know, the reason why you can't see us anymore maybe is because you're carrying life now..." and they all place bets that it's why and 9 months later when the baby arrives in the Button House where it already has so many uncles and aunties, Alison suddenly hears and sees them all again and they're all gathered around her with tears of joy and she's having the best day of her life because she's a mother AND she got her family back
