These cute and spooky ghost cookies will delight your taste buds! These treats, made with a delicious buttery dough and adorned with adorable ghost faces, are ideal for Halloween or any ghostly-themed occasion.
Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. White chocolate chips or candy melts. Edible black marker or black icing.
Instructions: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Divide the dough into two portions, flatten into discs, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out one disc of dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Using a ghost-shaped cookie cutter, cut out ghost shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts according to the package instructions. Dip each cooled ghost cookie into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place the dipped cookies back on the parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set. Once the chocolate is set, use an edible black marker or black icing to create ghost faces on the cookies. Let the icing or marker set before serving or storing.
