The Haunter’s Games
How much he despised this city...the people in it...the coldness that whipped at his face every time they came here. A living catacomb for the denizens- and yet here he was again, walking among the chilled stone and bitter winds. But, this wasn’t just a leisure trip, then again...he never came here for leisure. No, it was always business when coming here, why else would anyone subject themselves to palpable misery that lingered in the air about this wretched place?
Brice had gathered a small group, looking to put an end to his...other wordly problems. There were many ways to get rid of a ghost, but Brice seemed adamant on giving this specific one his earned eternal rest. Fier...couldn’t very well blame him, though he found it to be more of an annoyance than anything. They had very little to go off of in terms of information. A sloppily sketched face and the assumption that the entity following Brice around was from Ishgard. A short glance around the group as they gathered in front of the Forgotten Knight: Aiouxdaux, the charming elezen with many...many tricks up his sleeve. J’azhar, the versatile hunter from the Sagoli, hot tempered with a strange way of speaking. Nocturne, a geisha and entertainer...at least to those who didn’t know him. Then there was Brice, the one leading this little expedition to find out what they could to lay the spirit haunting him to rest. The pirate...seemed almost lost in the city when they arrived- his demeanor slowly changing the more they moved about.
Tasks were divided amongst those in attendance, and they set off on their way to find out what they could. A quick glance around the tavern revealed nothing- watching Nocturne make his way down to the lower area of the bar...he was certain the man knew what he was doing, so he left him to his own devices. Aiouxdaux and J’azhar set off on their way to the Brume...and because Fier had set off before the group he had no idea where Brice had ended up. After finding nothing inside the tavern Fier made his way out of the area, heading to the Jeweled Crozier- some place he knew that he’d get information.
Touching base with one of his own contacts...he managed to persuade the man to drop enough information to get him to his next needed spot: Saint Reymanaud’s Cathedral. As he arrived there was a woman stepping out of the church: modest clothes, a book...similar features to the crudely drawn sketch Brice had shown the group, and the distinct mark that he’d been looking for: a portion of her ear was missing. A quick call over the pearl and the rest of the group found their way to the cathedral- to which he remained in the shadows...damn well knowing that jumping out of them would do far more harm than good. That...and he wasn’t the best person to approach someone trying to be polite and obtain information the nice way. No that was for someone far more skilled in communicating...and someone far less crass than himself.
Of course...it was Aiouxdaux who was decided to be sent forward to confront the woman- to which could have gone a bit more smoothly. Ultimately...they obtained a good amount of information- though Fier felt they wasted many of their time and questions on silly little things when they should have cut to the chase and asked the important questions first. But...information was information and now they had more to work off of.
Etienne Tuitoy. Approximately 30 summers upon death. No trial received. Accused of heresy.
A short description of the woman they were looking for, the one who accused the man, falsely, of heresy. As well as the knowledge that she was likely an enchantress of some sort.
After they departed from their quarry it was a short moment of going over information, to which...once more Fier seemed to have the ability to shove both feet in his mouth at once. Sending Brice stomping off in one direction, leaving the trio of Fier, Aioudaux and J’azhar standing in front of the Cathedral. To which, the older Elezen quickly informed Fier to get his ass moving and catch up with Brice instead of letting the man wander off on his own.
