ended up finishing it prematurely, as it fell off the dop (i was at the end of pre polishing the pavilion)
but even still, i love my little prism

finished cutting my second gemstone! I'm not super happy with the finish on the crown (you can still see a whole bunch of scratches I couldn't get out, especially on the table) but it had been on my dop for a couple of weeks and I needed to move on for the sake of not getting stuck, so I got it to good enough and called it.
the triangular design (called Trioptic Blast) was much much trickier than I expected going in, which lead to a whole lot of difficulties but also a lot of learning! I think I'll go back to simpler designs for a bit until I'm more confident in the fundamentals, but I want to return to this design eventually.
Making big progress on the stone for my mom's Christmas present. The pavilion is done, the crown is roughed out. I have until Thursday morning to finish so I can hand it off to my brother to set. There's still a decent amount of work, but I think I can leave it until tomorrow and go to bed earlier tonight.
It's far from perfect, but unless you're looking at it through a loupe it looks pretty good
