Half of the skirt!
Beading should take me two weeks. Gold work another week. I’m thinking I can start pleating and smocking by end of March
Then I need to work on my commissions 😬

Took just shy of two months (four in total from first sketch), but my dragon in goldwork and silk is done :)
Gotta paste the back and then get it framed still. But pretty happy with the stitching.
Wreath of Olive Leaves (4th century B.C.) ✧ Gold · Greek Late Classical–Hellenistic · Western Turkey
Toilet set in original leather case, produced in Augsburg, Germany, c. 1743-45
Dragonfly stitched on blue felt. Beadwork and Goldwork. Silver and gold wings. Took me a little while but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Time for some shiny shit.
My outfit from Austerlitz chateau ball featuring my court suit and Legion d’Honneur insignia.
I look very courtly here. In fact, I suck at it. But I swear I am getting better!

Today I was reminded this little gold boat from 100 BCE Ireland exists and decided to pass on the joy!
Look at the tiny oars!!!
Little boat is just under 20 cm long and was found as part of the Broighter hoard on the shore of Lough Foyle in County Derry in 1896.
It's a super cute example of the Irish goldwork that used to be so prevelant.
