I need the people to know. They deserve to know.
Cyan, is not an actual gemologist. Or at least not an accurate representation of one. They are a crystal healer, which is a pseudoscience. Gemology is the study of minerals. It is a subcategory of geology.
I need the people to know, that if someone believes in Crystal healing, or chakras, or spiritual nature of crystals, that is NOT gemology. Gemology deals with scientific classification of gemstones, and sometime borders the jewelry industry.
You CAN, be both. I’m not ignoring that claim. But Cyan for the past few episodes, has NOT given me any confidence that they are an actual gemologist.
I CANNOT have the Among Us Series be something that tarnishes people’s knowledge of gemology I would lose my actual marbles.
yesterday my mom handed me a little baggy with a purple stone in it and told me to guess what it was
i could not for the life of me figure out what the fuck this was. i initially thought amethyst but the color was a little too reddish and the luster was wrong.
turns out it’s a one of a kind rhodolite garnet from cowee valley nc that my grandfather dug up and cut himself! it looks so different from other rhodolite garnets because it’s from a completely different place. this piece is absolutely priceless as cowee’s mineral deposits are dry and there will never be another piece like this.
mom told me to design a mounting for it sooo i guess ill be doing that

The largest cave of the amethyst Geode is the Enchanted Cave.
The Enchanted Cave is the largest enclosed amethyst geode ever discovered on Earth. Weighing as much as 20 tons, this extraordinary natural wonder offers a rare and impressive glimpse into the hidden beauty of our planet.
About 120 million years ago, a giant bubble formed inside a molten lava flow in northern Uruguay (South America). Over time, the lava cooled and solidified, and mineral-rich water seeped through the hard rock surface. The water evaporated or flowed out of the rock, leaving behind tiny mineral deposits. Over millions of years, these iron-rich deposits have gradually expanded to form millions of beautiful lavender amethysts in the amethyst cave.
More than a decade ago, an ordinary farmer discovered this miracle in a remote area of northern Uruguay. Then the founder of Crystal Castle (a botanical garden in New South Wales), having come to collect other crystals, could not resist the beauty of the cave and decided to move it to Australia so that people could see this creation live.

Some Gemology Vocabulary
for your next poem/story (pt. 1)
Gemology—the scientific study of gemstones
Acicular - crystals that have a "needle-like" form
Adamantine - the highest classification of surface lustre or reflectivity which may be shown by a gemstone (e.g. in faceted diamond)
Adularescence - a billowing flow of whitish or bluish colors that seem to float along the surface
Allochromatic - a gemstone is allochromatic when it is colorless in its pure state
Aventurescence - specular reflections or spangles of light reflected from plate-like inclusions as a stone is rotated
Baroque - gem materials having an irregular shape e.g. baroque pearls
Botryoidal - interlocking, rounded masses that sometimes look like grapes or bubbles resulting from radiating masses of fibrous crystals
Carat - a unit of weight for gemstones. There are five metric carats to the gram.
Chatoyancy - the cat’s-eye-like phenomenon caused by light reflecting from tiny fiber-like inclusions within a gem. The "eye" is seen at right angles to the direction of the inclusions. Stones must be cut en cabochon to see this effect.
Fluorescence - the emission of visible light by a gemstone when exposed to a light source whose light we normally cannot see
Idiochromatic - a gemstone is idiochromatic when the element causing its color is an essential part its chemical composition. For example, iron, which is an intrinsic part of the chemical makeup of peridot, is the cause of its green color.
Lapidary - the art of working with stone and gems which includes engraving, cutting, and polishing
Opalescence - a reflection of a milky or pearly light from a gem's interior, sometimes used as a synonym for iridescence.
Orange peel - a surface appearance resembling the outer skin of an orange. This is sometimes seen in plastic and glass simulants and should be observed in reflected light.
Phantom crystal - also known as "ghost crystal", they occur in quartz when there is an interruption in the growth cycle. It appears like a faint crystal within a crystal.
