It was raining yesterday, so I put the Cape Gooseberries outside to enjoy a shower.

Bonus squash! These spaghetti squash are volunteer. They grew from a seed that survived the winter in my composter. I dumped the compost in my smaller garden space and voila! Here’s what my strawberries look like now! This container is chock-full of plants, many of which are already switching from flower mode to berry mode. Look at all the tiny future berries there! I am really stoked to be eating them soon!

Update from last week: peppers, potatoes, corn, various squash, and beans. They got put in a little late this year but most are early varieties so it should be ok. Let’s hope.

My luffa squash growing attempt in western Washington. They're in a pot on a string trellis, so I may choose to bring them to a more sheltered location when frost threatens. They'll be ready to harvest for luffas when they dry out and turn brown, but I may have to harvest early.
