Life in the Garden

I was feeding my chicks and ducks again before bed when a few start making a sound I'd never heard from them before. They all froze immediately. Assuming it was some sort of warning noise, I look around to locate the treat in my basement.... It was a tiny moth... which then made the mistake of flying into the fowl pen, scaring the chickens and eventually being eaten by a duck.

There's a 20+ acre property available at my price point (if I can get a mortgage) that I was looking into today. It even has a small house and outbuildings that I could convert to animal housing. There is a rather large cleared yard for gardens and permaculture. The remaining land is mostly wooded, so I would probably clear a bit more. Overall it looks so nice for my budget. The only thing that makes me think it might not be good is that there's a natural gas drilling site up the road. Ugh. Idk because the price is good but the site is probably why. But there are also drilling sites ALL OVER THIS STATE. Theres hardly any escaping them unless you have hundreds of thousands to spend on very secluded, nice land. Problems of a poor wanna be hobby farmer.
