More bell peppers are growing in our home garden 🫑
I always forget how easy pickles are to make. Stuffing a jar and putting it in the fridge is my whole thing.
Something snapped its foliage, so this is an early harvest look. Bigger than last year!
Things I already plan on doing differently for next year's garden:
Just one: start ALL the damn plants inside
Even the pole beans, and cucumbers, and especially the sunflowers.
I planted ALL the sunflower seeds this year and I see absolutely nothing coming up. NEVER AGAINN.
MY TINY RAGE RAGES

Snapshot of the garden on August 1, 2026
It's the beginning of August, and the heat is truly setting in now, in norcal. My tomatoes are finally ripening with consistency, and my first-round cucumbers are finished. The black raspberries are coming to their end, but the blackberries are continuing onward at full steam.
I am ramping up my watering schedule and trying to stick to it, to help my garden get through the next two or so months where our average high for the days is 88℉/31℃. I also has a few more ollas to place out in the garden.
I think it's time to direct sow wax beans where I can. And I've got my next round of cucumbers sown inside, hopefully for some successful fall harvests.
Back in mid-July, I planted two blueberry bushes into my double buckets. Excited to see how they do in the set-up.
The varieties are "Jubilee" and "Emerald". I tried to go for ones that can self-pollinate, even if they will do better with cross pollination.
