don’t discount ur ideas bc u think they’re lame, bc there’s a solid chance that there’s a lot that u can do with it.  it’s hard to have perceptive on our own work, too, so even if u think it’s lame, someone else might think it’s the best thing ever.

What happens to that reality? Do they allow themselves to accept that diagnosis?

I've been writing for years, but lately I've been trying to decide what is the best software to write my book on. I used to use Google Documents but since AI came out and privacy issues, i've been having fears. Same goes for Microsoft 365. It's gotten to a point where I am thinking about using using a software that's entirely offline + free and saving everything onto a USB. What are your thoughts and opinions?

You have to love more books than just HP before you get into the business. You have to love other authors, read other books, and try out other styles. Because Harry Potter is great. We authors LOVE Harry Potter. But it’s not all there is out there. There’s a whole world of literature to learn from. There’s Neil Gaiman, Dianna Wynne Jones, John Flanagan… There are SOOO many great books out there that deserve to be respected. Please check out everything, (or a lot) before you commit to being a writer.
