Well, to show that Hal is Bruce's favorite, you have to make him single Hal out. Like in school, when a teacher puts a lot of pressure on one student in the class, "I know you can do better."In fact, Hal doesn't make so many mistakes that he deserves to be criticized so much compared to the others, it's just that he takes up 27% of Bruce's mind, which is actually a lot from a person who probably thinks about the composition paperwork two hours a week, so Hal's mistakes are analyzed by Bruce down to the last atom. This works the other way too, of course. Imagine Hal's shock when they reach the point where Bruce can speak without confusion about the merits of the Great Green Lantern. This will be the first star on the board in seven years.
AAHHHH YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT ACTUALLY
Works great when Hal thinks Bruce doesn't like him LOL
Hal would think that Bruce is needling him too much, or that Bruce is underestimating him and his ability, but in reality, Bruce is just constantly worried about him
Hal has the reputation of diving in first and learning to swim second after all, lol, and Bruce is the opposite of that
Wait I have something in mind
Oh I would like to write something about Hal himself forgetting he's allergic to something, but Bruce know,s so Bruce tells him to drop the food (idk, river shrimps? It's pretty common to be allergic to freshwater shrimps but fine with lobster in my place) (I live next to the sea) (I'm projecting my 'sea people' experience onto him)
I do not think Hal usually cares much about allergies since he's, you know, usually not vulnerable to dying because of peanut butter.
The Justice League is having a party, and the main menu food is determined by popular vote, and it's a particular dish made from Big River shrimp (I'm thinking Pad Thai lowkey). Hal thinks all shrimps are shrimps. He grew up eating them, and he has not died yet. He LOVES shrimps, actually. A fan of Lobster rolls. But when he arrives at the party, there's one portion missing, and it's his.
Hal: How come I do not have any food? I was one of the founders of this book club!
Superman: I don't know, uh, you can have mine, actually! I prefer my Ma's seafood boil, anyway, and I just had one last week!
Bruce, walking into the room: Do not give him the food. I specifically told you guys not to let Hal eat anything on the table before I arrive.
Hal, turning to Bruce, very, very hangry: Before you arrive? What are you, Batman? My boss? Do I need your permission to even eat from now on, you fucking paranoid lunatic?
Bruce: No, you're allergic to freshwater shrimps, Hal. You will die if you eat the food.
Hal, dumbfounded: What?
Bruce, sighing as he walks towards Hal to give him a warm box of food: I went back to the Restaurant to get you a different portion with seawater shrimp, the kind you're not allergic to. And no, you do not need to ask me permission to eat, Green Lantern.
Hal: ... I- I didn't realise that I was... You know, allergic to freshwater shrimps and all.
Bruce: You almost died when you were 7 because of them.
Hal: That was because of the shrimps? Jack literally told me it was because I was cursed. Wait, how do you know- Urgh, of course you do. You know everything about everyone, do you?
Bruce, after pausing a bit: I do not know everything about just anyone.
Hal, taking the food container: As if I would believe you! But, um, thanks, anyway.
The rest of the Justice League being tortured by whatever the fuck it was: ... Oh Gods, are they going to be like this for the next 10 years?
(they are)
