I still struggle with body dysmorphia but when I see pictures like this, it really gives me perspective. Most days, I still see myself as the person on the right. I’ve come so far and I love being able to visually see my progress.

Five years ago I was just embarking on my vegan journey. Even being less than six months in, I had already experienced the elimination of candida and IBS symptoms, as well as a regular and extreme afternoon slump. I worked out very irregularly, counted calories, had disordered eating, drank a ton of coffee and had irregular sleep patterns. Five years later and I've given up coffee and alcohol and am feeling better than I did on my twenties! Don't be healthy to add years to the end of your life but to improve your quality of life in the present moment. Going vegan is fast medicine.
