I think the creatures - and Smiley particularly - are just as much in the dark when it comes to the consequences of his resurrection as Fatima and the rest of Fromville is. As far as we know, none of them have ever been killed before, therefore none of them have ever gone through that process.

And we can see (just as Fatima told everyone!) that there is a real connection of some kind between them that I don't think anyone was prepared for.

That's the face of an evil creature of the night who is mightily confused as to how he was made to stop. Which now makes me wonder ...

Could Fatima potentially control Smiley?

I think these things are just monsters. They aren’t human, they never have been, but they’re trying to be. Trying to learn. They aren’t trying to integrate into human life - no, they will continue to kill the townspeople even if they succeed, but they’re just curious.

They have hunted and killed these people and they’re getting curious on what they are. So they begin to take them apart more medically. It’s why all the corpses in the town have their organs gone, cleanly removed, because the Walkers are taking the puzzle apart to see how the pieces fit. They don’t eat the bodies, so why leave them once the fun is over? Might as well learn a bit.

And we see them mimic human behavior too. At first it seems like they only do it to fool humans, but they do it alone too. Their private den is full of used human toys, toys they’ve been playing with. The walls are drawn on in crayon, learning from Victor and his drawings all over the town.

Smiley and ‘Jasmine’ both show this behavior well, taking time to deviate from killing just to do small human pleasures. Jasmine cleans her dress despite knowing it will be coated in blood soon, and Smiley wastes time while hunting just to sit in the bus and pretend to drive it, just to see what it feels like to sit in a car.

Helloo! I'm very sorry for the late reply - I wanted to wait until I had a teaser to share with you. XD But first, the questions from this meme (still accepting!)

🕸: Do you outline? How detailed?

Sometimes I do. For The Games We Play I do not though. But I do have a bunch of ideas and scenes that I would like to happen.

❄️: Do you write multi-chapter fics, do you keep an update schedule?

No, not at all. :) Between work, school, and paid projects, I work on fanfics when I have time and inspiration.

🔥: What's a piece of writing advice you consider bad advice?

"Write, write, write! Every single day! Otherwise you're not a writer!"

Unless you're being paid to do it, you don't have to write every day. Nothing wrong with pushing ourselves, but there's no need for this amount of anxiety-ridden creative masochism. Writers have good days and bad days. You don't lose your writing ability for taking a day off, you're not a bad writer for taking a few days to breathe and gather inspiration. Nobody can produce 24/7.
