more ranting about From stupid stale writing.
the whole Julie time travel plot line. Like imagine how cool it could have been if it was something they actually planned out and was trickled throughout the seasons?
Like I'm on Episode 9 of Season 4, and right now Julie is being a little jerk telling Tabitha not to believe her memories because actually her time traveling was just her giving herself seizures, but like, as the audience we know this isn't exactly the case, and that she can actually time travel even if she cant change things, because Jim literally saw her, the man in yellow saw her, she does travel, but now the show kinda dropped it and moved on to Fatima turning into a smiling creature?
like what's the point of all of it if it's just to waste time??
Like Julie, Randall and Marialle being taken by the Music Box Monster (is that the man in yellow? I dont even know what happened with that other than Boyd smashing the box and I literally just watched it), besides the usual nightmares that most of them already get, what's the ramifications? Like let's say Julie got her time traveling powers, what did Randall and Mari get? (though with Mari it isn't gonna matter much I know what happens) (also about Mari, the whole drug addiction this just disappeared once she managed go through withdrawal? Like she literally handles the medicine cabinet, it never comes up again? it's never an issue that maybe she stole medication that they desperately needed? the plot isn't driven at all by the characters, they just threw Mari in there because they were like "let's torture Kenny more Ricky He is so cute when he's upset, we almost let something interesting happen but nahhhh let's just shut that shit down).
Damn I just remembered Elgin existed, like do you think the writers remember him? Like when Sophia approached Clara, wouldn't it have been easier to manipulate a character we're already familiar with and know has fallen for it? Edit: oh look Elgin is dead. rest in peace Elgin, you'll be forgotten quickly.
Fatima is going to be the most interesting thing to happen this season because finally consequences and continuity in the mythology.
THEYRE ARRESTING VICTOR NOW??? Boyd why did you stop making sense 2 seasons ago? like the writers put this guy in a pinball machine and bop him around the plot as if he's a character and we all love Harold Perrineau enough to pretend he makes any sense.
last episode thoughts:
so they torn out the tree, even though Victor told them not to, and there was daylight, but then it turned dark, so like... syke! it's not like the creatures were attacking them anyways.
And Marielle's demise- somehow the talisman fell and instead of Fatima holding the piece of furniture or whatever up so that Marielle could get it, because it's a life and death situation, Fatima is like, tweaking between closing the door and yelling at Marielle, so that Smiley got in, and they ran into another room but suddenly Smiley has super speed (as if those things ever ran) and got to the room before they could close the door? Kenny got into the bus, onto the roof, threw Smiley down, ran back down, shut the door, and no other creature got on the bus because they're that slow, but apparently it was Marielle's time to die so she died.
