I'll suspend a lot of disbelief for an interesting or well written fanfiction but the idea of David Hollander ever forgetting his anniversary with his badass-baddie-love- of-his-life-takes-no-bullshit-or-prisoners wife Yuna mother fucking Hollander is pushing me to the edge

Okay so I think I get how the draft works mostly, but idk if I'm misunderstanding something or maybe other people are but I've read in a lot of fics where Shane beats himself up or people will get mad on his behalf that Ilya was the first draft pick, but from my (limited) understanding isn't who gets picked first based more on which team is picking rather than which person is the best at hockey? Like I thought Ilya only got first over Shane because Boston got to pick first and Montreal got to pick second. Like I understand Shane still feeling disappointed but it feels like it's established that Ilya was the TYPE of player that Boston liked, like he was more aggressive and mouthy than Shane, which was why he was picked, not that Shane just wasn't as good

My parents were very much the "No dating til your sixteen, no sex before marriage" kinda parents and I remember one time when I was like ten my mum was telling me about being in a relationship and I remember her saying "Having a boyfriend is a big commitment, you have to love them and talk to them every day" and yall TO THIS DAY I'm like "yo that sounds like too much" but WHYYYY did she make it sound like having a boyfriend was like owning a dog???
