Sara, you fucking genius!
Each passing moment Boyd is getting closer to several mental breakdowns and I love it.
yall talking about 67 im all 47
my thoughts on The Deaths plus Fatima:
- I actually thought marielle’s death was good as a main character death. it hurt bad without making me furious. a good stakes-raiser, a good reminder of the consequences for fucking up around here. also a good reminder of just how crucial the talismans are. before you yell at me know that I’m a lesbian
- disappointed and upset by Whatever The Fuck just happened to fatima. I liked the idea that the monsters were people who sacrificed their children in exchange for immortality, which fatima did not do. also I love fatima and hate seeing bad things happen to her, and I don’t like the writing choice of “she suffers forever and then this shit happens”. the transformation scene WAS cool tho I’ll give them that. but yeah unless they do something really cool with it, I do not like it
- baffled by elgin dying. I suppose they were making a parallel between him not taking the man in yellow’s “deal” and him being tricked by the woman in the kimono, and how you’re damned if you do damned if you don’t in this place. but it still felt p sudden and out of place to me, if only bc he almost died in the s3 finale. it was kinda like “elgin? didn’t we just fuck this guy up in the last finale?” and also, he really did get such a raw deal 😭 elgin suffered from start to finish. poor guy

THAT WAS IT???????? that was a good episode but it didn’t feel like a season finale
Since communal work is such a big theme on From, I think the fans are supposed to figure out From as a team. Here's what I've got:
Tabitha and Jade
Ok maybe everyone already knows this, but I think Tabitha and Jade aren't suposed to free the people in Fromville but be a cathalist to the new cycle of evil.
I don't have a full theory yet, but look.
They're shown oposing the Ritual from the beggining of time. At least I think it's them on the corner to the right.
Then they free 11 birds from the thomb
And then 11 monsters are drawn standing around some rotten crops (what's that house in the forest?)
The Ritual starts with the sacrifice of the children but involves all of these steps, and there's nothing new except now acording to YM they're digging out the children's (?) bones from the tomb.
The Monsters
Since the Monsters are not dressed in ancient fashion but from the 50's, and YM said from now on everyone will start tearing each other apart, plus what we saw with Clara on ep9, I think the Cycle is kind of a Ponzi scheme where a cohort of monsters need to give new monsters to the Forest in order for them to actually be free.
In this scenario, normal people face two options: become an immortal monster or get mauled and devoured by the Yellow Man.
The Lake of Tears
Victor's drawings show a big flood with people standing on the roof of a house under heavy rain (also there's another drawing of a spider in the rain, with Ethan also seeing a spider in his seazure-induced dream), and I think this is the Lake of Tears that brings the dead back into life to turn them into monsters.
Final questions
What took the monsters from the 50's so long to finish their cycle? Victor's family arrived around 1980, giving that cycle 30 plus years, when this new generation of people in Fromville has been at most three years trapped in there.
Since Victor is still alive, is his own cycle over? Is this actually a new cycle? What changed?
