Tried making this hat, ended up wayyyyy too big and somehow the ends were different length. Not entirely sure how this went wrong, but it’s definitely getting frogged.

Without fail, every time I try to knit, the kids interrupt.
Inspired by a drawing by @yourimaginarycupcake, a “Frog it!” Seb hoodie. (Might improve it but this is it for now)
Frog It
Permission to admit failure is so important for my mental health.
Last week I was showing a friend a shawl I was working on, and after she admired it etc she for some reason asked “do you like it?”
And I suddenly realized that I didn’t. I was dragging myself through making it.
My friend gave me an ‘I’ve been there,’ type hug and said, “frog it.”
And I felt this huge weight lift. I was allowed to give up! To declare the project a failure! I immediately pulled that thing undone, picked out a new design and in the last week I’ve been enjoying it so much I’ve already reworked all that unraveled yarn that took me a month on the old project.
Pushing yourself forward on a personal creative project that’s not making you happy is horrible and soul sucking. Whether it’s a scarf or a novel. I’m not talking about something that’s difficult or challenging. I mean something that you hate.
But sometimes it’s hard to give yourself permission to give up.
So here it is. You have permission. Frog that sweater, abandon that story. Scrap that novel. You’re allowed.
And go put your creative energies toward something fun.
I did it. I've frogged both the back panel and the little bit of the front piece I did.
This is just the back panel. Pic of me holding it as a ball for reference. The tree part was wonky, and I wasn't 100% sure it would fit me, so just gonna start fresh, and actually measure myself around my hips/lower waist (where I want it to hit before I add the ribbing).
So probs gonna start this today or tomorrow, and hope it doesn't take me a whole year to make. 👍

i made a mistake four or so (lace pattern) rows back 😞 the entire row is affected.... so do i
painstakingly undo several hours worth of work
live with it and hope no one notices the discrepancy in the pattern
I have 3 1/2 feet of a shawl that I messed up on Row 4. Remind me why I love crafting? 😧
