Any form of worry equates to at least a parcel of love. Like when she was worried about Paul’s disappearance – she did NOT love him, but he was her ‘favorite’ at the moment, so, y’know, she worries. “I worry about you” is “I care about you enough to be thinking about you when you’re not around” to Rachel. 

As much as Evie wanted Delphine dead and buried so that her investigations would stop, her henchman’s bad shot led them to consider another option. After Delphine had been dragged away, she had been transported to Brightborn and deposited in a room tucked away in the very center of the building where the security was tightest. The room was set up like the rest of the  rooms and the badge reader was adjusted so it would only those belonging to Evie and her most trusted inner circle. She had visited the half-dead woman when she was brought in and the reports on how well Evie’s new rapid healing technology was working didn’t require her to visit again. The pained noises she heard from the room also reinforced the fact that she didn’t need to visit too know that the treatment was working. All of the other test subjects had reacted the same way.

Out of curiosity, she decided to visit and with a quick swipe of her badge, she slipped into Delphine’s room. She slowly closed the door behind her and entered the dimly lit room with a clipboard in hand. It was entirely possible that Delphine might recognize her from seeing her in the halls at DYAD, but very few people at DYAD knew about Evie’s true intentions.

“It’s good to see you’re awake. I’m Evie Cho, the woman behind the treatment that’s helped you heal so quickly. How are you feeling, Doctor Cormier?” Her free hand brushed against the restraints that were keeping Delphine from doing anything stupid. “I trust you haven’t been touching your wound much.”
