French con is a thing. Especially about mangas! And so of course, the money machine is at it best. Iâm living in the third city of Fance, there is manga cons in here, sometimes... The biggest one... is a joke.
They are not organised. The volunteer working in here (for the food distribution, the cloakroom, the ticket office ect... Are left by themselves with no head of tail. They are all at one place, and nobody actually âorganiseâ the con. Like, in better con, when youâre expose your art, you have, sometimes, one of those volunteer that come and say âdo you need nything ?â (from pplastic bag, to water or changing a light buld ect...) At this con, there is NOTHING of that !
But the biggest joke, is actual the guy behind all this is all about money !
Artist alley ? Pff, put this somewhere where the actual goodies shop wonât be annoyed by them. upstairs ! Yeah put them upstairs ! Oh and of course donât put any signal like there is actually something upstairs.
5 this con welcome approx 40 000 people during two days. And we barely see 1000 of them since nobody knew there were an upstairs... two years in a row.
And so this noon, I just got a mail from them. (Iâm not exposing to there con anymore, but since I did, they keep asking me to come)
And there is this sentence:
âVous avez jusqu'au 14 juillet pour bĂŠnĂŠficier du tarif prĂŠfĂŠrentiel : le stand de 4m2 ne coĂťte que 120⏠TTC si vous vous inscrivez avant le 14 juillet (130⏠TTC après cette date). â
Traduction : âYou got until 14th of july to subribe and get a preferencial price : the 4m table cost only 120⏠every taxes inclued if you subscribe before the 14th of july ( 130⏠every taxes inclued after this date).â
So. Not only they repeted themselves. BUT their âpreferentialâ price is a discount of 10⏠? 10. fuckin. poor. euros !?!
What. the. fuck ?! Did they SERIOUSLY think that at a cost of 130âŹ(~147$) we would REALLY count for 10euros ?
Plus, they perfectly choose their moment to tell us that, in less than 2weeks, in Paris, their ill be the BIGGEST manga con of all the country : Japan Expo, lasting 4 days + a week of recovery because itâs exhausting ! (it really is)
So nobody have, will have the time to fill a table form ! Nobody (except the one not participating at Japan Expo, meaning nobody) will benefit from this âpreferentialâ price.
