Foxflash is a bold and outgoing warrior. As a kitten she was more reserved but grew out of it as she got older. She’s often seen doing reckless actions like catching dangerous prey by the beach or arguing with the other young warriors. Foxflash ECU Programmer Customer Problem:

I can’t read id and flash?

Renault Trafic 1.6 Bosch EDC17C42

Tried via obd and also via bench mode, always same? Have this message: ERROR !!! contact support [email protected].

Eobdtool.co.uk engineer replied:

It cannot read via obd if there is no vr file in server.

double check wiring and voltage.

Foxflash will R/W in boot as well.

You may have problem with ecu.

Many customers read and write renault EDC17C42 by bench mode

R/W OK, Checksum OK.

Need to use Foxflash Bench Box, connect the power adapter to Foxflash or bench box are OK, there is no difference.

Reanult/Nissan TC1767 EDC17C42 Pinout to Foxflash ECU Chip Tuning Tool:

Pin Q4, D1: +12V (Red)

Pin J3: Brown

Pin H4: White

Pin H1: GND (Black)

Pin A1: CAN-H (Blue)

Pin A2: CAN-L (Orange)

To read and write use the following driver:

-> BENCH TRICORE

-> RENAULT or NISSAN

-> TC1767- RENAULT or NISSAN

-> EDC17 C42

If Foxflash ECU Tool read Renault EDC17C42 ECU on bench OK, but failed to write with the error “OTP sector not writable” as shown below.

The possible cause is that your file is bad.

Bad file tried to write the original file and see if all is ok.

Customer problem:

When I opened foxflash manager after downloading and activation, it appeared an error message “Detected potential use of an unofficial adapter. Device protection enable”.

eobdtool.co.uk engineer replied:

Foxflash server detects you using an unofficial adapter. So the device protection mode is enabled, and your device is locked.

Please don’t use the 3rd party adapters like ecuhelp OTB2.0 adapter to work with Foxflash ECU Programmer.

foxFlash OTB 1.0 Expansion Adapter can be used with Foxflash ECU Programmer to read and write ECM, TCM, ACM, DCM via OTB mode (OBD mode via bench pinout ). Here eobdtool.co.uk shares the guide to find the Pinout for this OTB Adapter.

1.Open the foxflash Manager installation folder, and click the “DOCUMENTS.htm” folder

You can find the OTB pinout in this document folder.

Check the PDF format in “help” folder or check online version via browser.

2.Enter the ECU type you desire (i.e. CRD3) in the searching box to find the corresponding ECU quickly

Then the related bench pinout will appear on the interface (i.e. Mercedes- Benz Delphi CRD3.x)

3.There is no need to connect GPT. Only need to connect GND, VCC, CAN H and CAN L when you use Foxflash OTB 1.0 Adapter.

Check the CAN H, CAN L, VCC, GND position, and select Car OBD driver to connect with OTB.

You need to connect the Kline if have Kline.

Need to connect the following 5 cables

CAN+: Pin 42

CAN-: Pin 55

+12V: Pin 5

GND: Pin 2

Ign: Pin 15

Check the corresponding Pin positions on Foxflash OTB Expansion Adapter

Then connect OTB Adapter and ECU correctly

Connect Foxflash and OTB 1.0 Adapter via OBD cable

Supply power to OTB Adapter as well

Read & Write ECU operation guide:

After connection, run Foxflash Manager and software

Select the driver and ECU you desire

For example:

Select CAR obd>> MERCEDES>> C KLASS>> 1.8/2.2 CDI Blue Delphi CRD3.x * CAN Fast

Enter the read and write interface

First, get ID

Then, read file and save the CRDF file

Next, open the CRDF-EGR DPF file

Last, write the file into the Mercedes-Benz CRD3ECU
