Imagine, after impersonating Odin, Loki tries his hand at impersonating Laufey. After all, no one on Jotunheim knows what happened to the real Laufey.  So he turns up on Jotunheim one day, casket in hand (he’d prudently stowed it in a pocket dimension at the same time he saved the tesseract) and restores Jotenheim to its former glory.  No one knows where he’s been (after all there are no living witnesses of what really happened back on Asgard. There’s a bit of consternation that he doesn’t wholly remember the past very well, but it gets puts down to battle-induced amnesia.  He tells the people he’s brought down Asgard for good - destroyed the lot. Once the Jotunheim is rebuilt, he starts to commission plays about it.
