One window down and 9 more to go! We scored these windows for $1 a piece at our local thrift store. They were dirty and the paint was peeling off and the sealant was dry rotted. I pulled the glass out, cleaned it down to the wood, painted and reinstalled the glass. After another trip to the thrift store (they have glass doors for $20!!), and the hardware store for one sheet of plywood, some 2x6's, and clear roofing, we will have ourselves a greenhouse!
🌲🌲 HAPPY NATIONAL TREE DAY 🌲🌲
If you know an interesting tree fact, please share with everyone else so maybe we can all learn something new.
For some reason, I thought pineapples grew from trees like any other fruit. You know, maybe hanging off a tall tree separately from each other (kinda like coconuts?) but boy was I wrong!
They grow like a bush with the fruit coming out of the top of the plant!!
Apparently they take almost 3 years for a single fruit to fully mature from just a seed and are typically harvested between March thru July (in Hawaii, specifically.)
Lunch Break

I feel so proud today!
For some time now, I've been bringing trash bags on my semi daily walks to clean up nature.
Today, along my usual walking route, there was barely a thing for me to clean up! I deeply enjoyed all the grass and flowers, spring bringing the earth back to life with barely any plastic, cans or pieces of fireworks littered around!
(Then i took a detour and filled the bag up anyway with beer cans and plastic bottles~)
