What are you reading this week? Since itâs a holiday this week, Iâll have more free time than I usually have so I plan on getting into the final book of the Green Bone Saga: Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee. Thanks @orbitbooks_us for the gifted read. I only started a little bit over the weekend since my mental health has been wobbly, but Iâm loving it so far. So Jade City is one of the most talked about books in the few past years. This an excellent start of a complex and detailed fantasy series by incredible author Fonda Lee.
In Jade City we follow the Kaul family, head of the clan of No Peak. In the city of Kekon there are two main clans who rule the streets and control the flow of Jade.
Jade is a precious stone that makes the worthy incredible more powerful. The Green Bones are people whoâve trained for years to control this power, in incapable hands this power would lead to dead.
So when thereâs this new drug, SN1 that makes the consumption of Jade able for everyone the No Peak clans goes into a frenzy, because the Mountain is behind this.
A war takes the streets of the city and ruthlessness would reign. I adored this books, it intimidated me a lot, and in the beginning it was kinda hard learning all the details of this world, but by the 2/3 of the novel I was enthralled.
The world building of this world it is intriguing and admirable. Thereâs no detailed left behind, such an exquisite tale and I canât wait to continue with the series. If youâre a fantasy fan youâre gonna love this. (Also Anden it is a precious boy that needs all the protection).
