now that base has contacted and gotten confirmation and from the idols who will be involved in base christmas: the magic of the season, the idols will begin to prepare the album this month.
idols not involved in the album will also have the opportunity to film a short video talking about the season or the end of the year to participate in a teaser for the album release during this period.

in-’verse info
during this three week period, all songs on the album will be recorded. songs 1 through 5 on the track list will be recorded some time between november 1 and november 14 with dates depending on when the artists of the song are available. “all i want” will be recorded throughout the week of november 15 to november 21. all recording will take place in a large studio space rented out by the team in charge of the album instead of at any of the companies.
everyone recording on the same song will generally be asked to be present all at the same time for at least one recording session day so that the production team can get behind the scenes footage for everyone on that day. some idols may be called back in on additional days to put down more vocals for songs. at this time, idols may briefly cross paths with other idols as their scheduled recording times run into one another.
all of the idols on the album will also participate in a reality show that will be uploaded to the base youtube channel in ten minute clips to give a more personal look at the “magic team”. this show will involve all of the idols coming together to learn and do various activities related to the holiday season. on november 15, all idols on the album will be scheduled to show up at a large kitchen around 8am, where they’ll all learn from one of seoul’s top pastry chefs and make christmas-themed treats such as designed cut out cookies, gourmet chocolates, bûche de noël, and homemade candy canes. that night around 6pm, the idols will meet back together at a warehouse, where they’ll talk to a man who helps design large christmas tree displays throughout the city (example). they’ll then be sorted in small groups of three or four and be instructed to come up with a christmas tree decoration design of their own. as this is all being filmed, this will be made into a competition with the promise that the best design will be used on a real public christmas tree display.
base is also seeking idols, whether they are involved in the album or not, to film a personal video on thoughts and feelings related to either winter or the end of the year to include in a teaser video for the project. idols participating in the video who are not otherwise involved in the album will be encouraged to do so by management who will have the request passed along to them.
these short clips will be included in the magic of the season video base will be uploaded to their youtube channel to tease the release of the album. in order to be included, the idol must submit a video discussing one (or multiple) of the following topics:
what is your favorite winter or winter holiday (christmas, new year’s, seollal, etc.) memory?
what is your favorite winter activity?
what is your favorite part of winter / christmas / new year’s?
what are your wishes for your fans, friends, and family as 2021 comes to an end and 2022 begins?
what moment from 2021 are you most grateful for?
idols will be filmed against a blank wall like in these video examples.

with their busy schedules, it was harder to find a suitable time for everyont to get together. it's a little sad when he thinks about it, really. it's one reason why the moment an opportunity shows itself - this time, it’s sooah calling him to hang out and maybe try out a recipe she was working on - he immediately grabs it. being someone who also loves cooking, he was excited to hear that sooah’s started to learn herself. small steps is still progress, he tells himself. and being a good friend that he is, of course he’s excited to try out her cooking. maybe she’ll enjoy the activity so much she’ll pick it up as a hobby. he smiles at the thought.
sehoon arrives at the place he and sooah have agreed to meet up at and so he makes himself comfortable first. he sends her a message saying he’s there already before he fixes his cap in hopes no one would recognize him (although at this point he doubts anyone would not recognize them). hopefully, people would take the hint and would leave them in peace. when he sees sooah approaching he waves at her with a big smile.
duri was quite excited about doing the escape room, even though he wasn’t really thrilled about getting locked into a room. could you really blame him? he didn’t really do well with that sort of thing. but, he would be distracted well enough with the task that was at hand of getting out of the escape room. he liked to pick his brain a bit, which was why he was excited about doing the escape room as well. he had gotten sooah, the youngest member of fuse, to join him on the venture as they entered the room with some other people. “are you ready to escape?” he asked, giggling softly. “ah, i hope we can do it in forty minutes. forty minutes seems so long, but also so short.”
i’m your girl is her first promoted single outside of 7rophy since her debut. she’s frankly glad the promotion period was as short as it was (after all, she’s never cared as much for promoting as she does for the music). the song is, muscally speaking, one of her proudest accomplishments to date. she’s proud to have had a hand in it, and proud of sooah as well.

kyunghwa wasn’t the main dancer of the group but, as the leader, she inevitably took the initiative of leading their dance practices as well. by now, the girls were well acquainted with the choreography, having gone through the motions of practicing it enough times that no one was missing out on steps or anything like that. still, there were always details that a sharp eye like kyunghwa’s would inevitably catch. so she let the girls run through the choreography once more, this time sitting out so she could watch – and obviously there were mistakes. “ sooah, ” she called the girl out, allowing the rest to take a break while she spoke to the youngest. “ you need to make your movements sharper in the last chorus. the way you’re doing it makes it look lazy and unpolished. ”

yerim can’t remember the last she’d actually settled down and relaxed. since before training, she was the hardest worker she knew, always restless to be doing something with herself. standing still equated to failing herself, and she was sure this trip was supposed to make her aware of that. if only she could just step back and evaluate the way she worked herself down to the bone, always finding something to improve on and never settling for anything short of perfection. every quiet moment felt like a waste of time, and this retreat was nothing but a long silence.
she spots sooah on her way outside. yerim’s dressed like she could take off to the mountain trails or walk straight into the spa, not quite sure what her plan is for the day herself. she isn’t used to all this free time away from the dance studios back at the gold star building. seeing sooah reminds her of how much she wants to be back there, in those stifling, mirror - covered rooms. she remembers spending long hours there with sooah, all those years ago. she can’t help but smile fondly, waving as she approaches.
“ sooah, ” yerim calls out, just to announce herself so she doesn’t surprise the girl. “ where are you off to? ”
“quoting beethoven is a little cheesy, don’t you think?”
ever since suji’s gotten the audio of fuse’s next comeback song, she’s been trying to figure out how she feels about it. it’s not like she enjoyed every single fuse title track—not when a whole zimzalabim and rookie existed—but she liked being able to perform a track that matched up with her preference. it didn’t help that she sang practically half the song on her own, and she wondered what went through the producer’s minds when they decided to distribute the lines. having to sing all of those lines about four times a week for a whole month was surely going to strain her throat.
she also can’t hide her disappointment over how sooah’s been brushed off once again. with the vast improvement she’s made, suji thinks that she could very well take up some of her own lines. all the producers have got her singing are na na na’s, and she wouldn’t be surprised if that was frustrating for the youngest member. glancing over, she brings a hand up to give sooah a quick squeeze on her arm. “do you think beethoven enjoys having his song sampled like this?”
if suji were to be dragged around by anybody else for the scavenger hunt, she’s certain that she’d be a little hesitant. it didn’t sound like the best thing to participate in, and she truly wasn’t that interested in the prize to be won. however, when sooah had walked up to her with her large, doe eyes, talking about how she lost her original partner, suji simply couldn’t say no.
she could never say no to sooah.
“woah, slow down!” along with the warning, she laughed at how enthusiastic the other seemed to be about the event. if they could find all the jack-o-lanterns then sooah would be eligible for the raffle. with the way she was practically dragging her around, it appeared to be something she was excited for, and so that meant that suji would need to give it her all. “have you checked the photo booth? maybe there’s one there.”
