he couldn’t help but to smile from ear to ear once they had gotten time to be not mic’d or recorded at the christmas market. filming for the day had come to a close, his mic was removed, and the cameras stopped rolling. he had seen mav earlier in night, just for some interactions filmed on camera, before texting him to meet him in a certain spot after they’d be finished with filming. he was really excited to be able to spend time with mav, just the two of them in a christmas market.
to be quite honest, he had felt a bit nostalgic, mainly because of the ice rink. his uncle and aunt always taking him to an ice rink for his birthday as a distraction to the fact that he didn’t want to celebrate said event. he had a warmer feeling because of it and he may have been a bit rusty, but he was excited to go again.
staring upon christmas decorations, his brown eyes dazzled like the stars in the sky. however, his eyes simply didn’t dazzle as much as when mav had come into his sight. his eyes out dazzled the stars once seeing him, a bigger smile placing upon lips; one that was incredibly fond. his hand came out of his pocket, waving towards mav. “kai!” he shout out excitingly. once he had come closer, duri pulled him into a hug, but it was one that you wouldn’t give just anyone; one that was clearly for someone that you really felt something for. not to mention the fact that, after looking around for a quick moment, and it just being the two of them, he pressed a kiss against his jawline in greeting; which simply made duri giggle, before letting go of the hug, even though he didn’t want to.

He is well aware he has no skills and talents when it comes to ice skating. He never had the opportunity to learn how to skate and certainly doesn’t have the time now. Honestly, he would had been okay with him and Ahreum just browsing through the market and seeing what was available. But then again, that could get boring after awhile so here they were going to ice skate. It was nice though they were able to spend some time together before filming begins. It was even more nice that he was told to make a cameo appearance for this. That meant for him that he can see Ahreum and spend time with his boyfriend. He gets up after putting on his ice skates and looks at his boyfriend. “Are you ready to go?”
Filming for the second filming block (episodes five through eight) of Shared Home has begun! Below, you’ll find the tasks for the next three weeks. These four episodes will revolve around the main cast getting into a routine in their new home, getting used to the neighborhood their houses are located in, and forming stronger friendships with their housemates.
Please note that this post is quite long, but it is divided into information for the main cast and information for muses not in the main cast, so that you can find the information most pertinent to your muse(s).
Additional note: Shared Home will begin airing on SBS during this filming block. The show will air one episode a week on Sunday nights beginning on December 8. Cast members are allowed to share photos and posts on social media about the show beginning then, but since the show will be airing several weeks behind filming, they are not allowed to post any content that will spoil details of the events of the show.
As always for events, please don’t feel pressured to complete more than you’re able to. Main cast members are encouraged to try to do at least a thread or two per filming block, but you won’t be penalized if you’re not able to!
HOUSE INFORMATION | ROOMMATE INFORMATION
FOR MAIN CAST:
Shoot Week One:
For the week of November 24th to November 30th, all main cast members will be requested to stay in their respective house when their schedules allow. During this time, footage will be taken mainly from the stationary cameras with an emphasis on getting clips of the cast members continuing to get to know each other and adjusting to the house.
During this week, the cast members will also be assigned by production to make a schedule for cast members to complete chores like cleaning the house, doing laundry, and grocery shopping for everyone else in the house. These schedules are up to the cast members for the most part (some producer meddling may be done to put cast members together who they’ve noticed provide interesting interactions or have yet to interact much), but will be encouraged to be assigned mostly in groups of two or three to complete chores together instead of being assigned to individuals.
Each cast member is also expected to be in charge of preparing at least one meal for the entire house during this three week filming block. Unlike the full house preparing dinner together, this meal is expected to be completed mostly on their own in order to showcase either the cast member’s cooking skills or to provide entertainment in the form of their attempt to cook. If necessary, they’ll be permitted to seek help from others in small amounts for on-camera interaction, but should generally take on the task independently.
There will be a few occasions of filming in small groups outside of the house for shopping for groceries and other necessities, or for walks out in the private neighborhood surrounding their house in small groups for a change in scenery of interaction.
Shoot Week Two:
From December 1st to 7th, all main cast members are contractually obligated to spend at least 20 hours in their house for filming as it works around their schedules for the week. This may be done all at once or spread out over multiple days. They may choose to stay longer than that if they would like to and/or if they would like a larger chance at screen time. The producers will grow a liking to those who show initiative to spend more time in the house, as well, which can lead to a particularly positive edit in the final cut of the show. Both this week and the next, they will continue to be expected to complete the chore schedules and individual meal preparation as assigned the prior week.
The main focus of this week, though, will be on further cast bonding, this time outside of the house and even with the members of the other house. Two nights and two days this week, there will be a filming outside of the house at a nearby social location as follows. These activities will combine cast members from both houses. Each cast member is required to attend at least one, but can choose to attend as many as their schedule allows.
December 1st: Bowling night.
December 3rd: Picnic (during the day at a nearby park).
December 5th: Noraebang night. - Groups with conflicting schedules: Unity.
December 7th: Group Taekkyeon lesson (during the day). - Groups with conflicting schedules: Knight, CHARM, Unity.
Shoot Week Three:
On the 10th, all cast members of both houses will get together at House One for a viewing party of the first episode of Shared Home. This will be filmed and condensed to air in episode seven.
The other main shoot of this week will comprise most of episodes seven and eight. For these episodes, the main cast of both houses will take a trip to the Seongbuk European Christmas Market [visual references: 1, 2] (admin note: please ignore the dates on this poster as they’ve been changed for in-’verse convenience) in the Seongbuk Stream Fountain Square in the neighborhood in which both houses are located. The market is hosted by the Seongbuk Global Village Center and sponsored by several European embassies with the large presence of foreign residents in the area taken into consideration. The goal of the market is to give European residents of the surrounding area a taste of home and introduce Korean residents to different cultural holiday traditions and features booths with authentic gifts, food and drink, and holiday decorations from Spain, Bulgaria, Poland, France, Switzerland, Georgia, Czech Reoublic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Finland, Belgium, Germany, and Ukraine.
Also available in or near the market are stages of Christmas carol and European popular music performances, Santa costume and dance contests, a station to “write a letter to Santa Claus” (mostly targeted toward children, but could provide cute moments for the cameras), a large decorated Christmas tree, and an outdoor ice skating rink. In the nearby Grand Hilton Hotel, there’s more food available as well as a gingerbread house auction.
Tickets to the market will be paid for and provided by production and ₩30,000 will be provided to each cast member for them to make purchases at the market. Additional purchases beyond that small budget will need to be bought with their own money.
All main cast will be required to attend at least one of two dates (December 13th or 14th) of the market. The market is open from 12PM to 10PM both days and production will have a bus coming and going from the market at two hour intervals throughout the day to accommodate when idols can arrive and when they need to leave. All cast members will be mic’d during filming, but they will have a short time to explore the village off-mic and off-camera in the first hour as well as the final hour of the market both days if they are there while production sets up and then packs up everything. All footage will be filmed by a camera crew.
POINTS AVAILABLE FOR MAIN CAST: 15 points
+2 points (up to 10 points total) - INTERACTIONS: A thread taking place during this filming block with a starter and at least three replies (starter ▻ partner reply ▻ op reply ▻ partner reply) by the end of the three week filming period is worth 2 points. This is valid for up to five threads with different muses.
+3 points - SOLO: Writing a self-para taking place at any point during this filming block by the end of the three week filming period is worth 3 points.
+2 points - INTERVIEW: Answering this short interview (after filming week three) in-character is worth 2 points. These will be filmed in an area set off to the side of each house to be filmed with the cast members speaking directly to the camera about their feelings.
None of these will count toward your monthly limits for anything and must be completed and posted in the #fmdsh2 tag by Saturday, December 21 at 11:59PM EST to qualify for points.
FOR NON-MAIN CAST (CAMEO APPEARANCES):
Idols not in the main cast of the show will have a variety of opportunities to appear on-camera for this filming block. The following prompts explain each opportunity.
Opportunity One
Your muse has been requested to make a cameo appearance as a guest visiting the house. This will most likely be to share a meal with the main cast and possibly one or two other guests or to visit label mates who are in the house and will be dictated by production. This cameo, as all cameos, will pay in potential screen time as well as a paycheck for their time.
Opportunity Two
Your muse has been requested to “mail” one (or both) of the houses either a care package and/or a holiday greeting. This will not actually be placed in the mail en route to the house, but will instead be given to production and delivered to the house(s) at certain intervals and framed as though it arrived by post. This specific cameo will lead to a mention of the idol and not an actual additional appearance for filming on the show.
Similar to last filming block’s housewarming gift, this will be a gift to the cast of one or both houses, but the options for what this can consist of are even broader. Food, living necessities, and luxuries are all welcomed in the spirit of a traditional care package, but again, creativity will be rewarded by the producers. Your muse has more room to get humorous with this than they did with their housewarming gift and could even do some comedic self promo by slipping in a copy of their latest album or a framed picture of themselves. On the other hand, to show a thoughtful image, they could get sentimental and show their care for concerns they may know a cast member might be struggling with in their new home. If your muse chooses to take the angle of a holiday greeting, this could be a wrapped holiday gift, a holiday card, or even a heartfelt (or seemingly heartfelt) letter to one or more members of the cast. Anything goes as long as it vaguely fits within the theme of care package or holiday greeting and is appropriate and avoids causing scandal.
A limited budget will be provided for muses “chosen” for this opportunity, but they are welcome to go beyond that budget and spend their own money if they’d like. Muses should also keep in mind the “mail” concept of this opportunity and keep the size, weight, and urgency of any item reasonable within those parameters.
Opportunity Three
Your muse has been requested to make an appearance during the third shoot week filming at the Seongbuk European Christmas Market. Please see information about the market above in the main cast’s shoot week three for full details. Tickets will also be provided for cameos by production and cameos have the similar option to attend December 13th or 14th, or both days at any point from 12PM to 10PM, but cameos will not be provided a monetary budget by the cast and must make any additional purchases with their own money. All cameos will be mic’d during filming, but before and after their assigned filming slot, they may explore the village off-mic and off-camera.
POINTS AVAILABLE FOR CAMEOS: 15 points
+2 points (up to 10 points total) - INTERACTIONS: A thread taking place either on a visit to a house or during the Seongbuk European Christmas Market visit with a starter and at least three replies (starter ▻ partner reply ▻ op reply ▻ partner reply) by the end of the three week filming period is worth 2 points. This is valid for up to five threads with different muses (muses don’t have to be main cast).
+3 points - SOLO: Completing the above care package or holiday greeting prompt in a self-para or headcanon of 400+ words by the end of the three week filming period is worth 3 points.
+2 points - INTERVIEW: Answering this short interview in-character is worth 2 points. This will be filmed in their company building after the end of filming week three.
None of these will count toward your monthly limits for anything and must be completed and posted in the #fmdsh2 tag by Saturday, December 21 at 11:59PM EST to qualify for points.
"i give up!" it was shouted in half-amusement and half true frustration. kami thought the bowling activity would be fun and it was. sort of. she had never been bowling but she was ready to tackle it. and she did.
she tried to at least.
but it wasn't working correctly, it didn't take long realize that she had no skill for this. at first it was funny, but the more she didn't win, the more irritated she became. simply because, kami wasn't that into loosing. after another failed round, kami flopped down next to duri with a frown. "the bowling ball is obviously trying to make me look bad."
“sunbae, can you ice skate?” minju asks as she eyes the rink laid out in front of them. it’s on the small side, minju observes, though she doesn’t have much to compare it to. if she thinks back, she hasn’t gone ice skating very many times in her life, and every time has been indoors. she ponders to herself how the ice rink had gotten here. was it permanent? minju doubts it, but do they make transportable ice rinks like inflatable pools? she decides in this day and age they must have found a way to make everything portable. she considers voicing her thoughts aloud, but spends too long considering whether that would be interesting for the cameras and by the time she even gets to the point of opening her mouth, she becomes extremely aware of the awkward pause she’s invited into the air. the editors would cut it out, but she’s already shoved the words back down her throat.
“i also heard there’s a gingerbread house auction in the hotel!” she pipes in again instead. “i don’t think i’ve ever seen a real gingerbread house in person. is that normal? i thought they were something people only made in movies and no one actually did that for christmas in real life.” she laughs a little, but her brain is still running a mile a minute trying to stay compelling enough to keep youngjoo by her side so she isn’t left pathetically alone on camera in front of everyone. there must be more interesting people than her that her senior could be spending her time at the christmas market with, after all.

“i’ve been thinking about what to get them all day, but i’m still not sure.” the sun was just beginning to fall below the horizon when joosung noticed the hot chocolate booth coming into view again. an audible gasp left his throat as he grabbed the hand of the person he was with, hesitation non-existent, and scurried off to the booth. it would have been wrong to have it in the daylight, but the sung was setting, so it was okay to cheat a little.
he ordered a cocoa for himself, excitement controlled into rolling back and forth on his feet, then turned to his companion. “would you like one? it’s on me.”
accepting defeat, minhee closes her eyes and throws her head back with a groan. childishly, she stamps her foot and then turns on her heel, going from facing the bowling lane to facing duri behind her. “this sucks! i thought i was better at this!” she whines. minhee takes a look around the bowling alley, and her eyes eventually land on what she’s looking for. “aha!” minhee runs over to the bowling guide rail. it’s intended for kids and the visually impaired, she knows that ... oh well, she’s a kid at heart. or that’s her excuse, at least. “let me try with this!” while minhee lines it up with the lane, she can hear staff and her fellow cast members laughing at her alike, but she doesn’t care. minhee picks up a bowling ball, one of the lighter ones, and places it at the top of the rail. tongue popping out of her mouth in focus, minhee lets the ball go - and it rolls, all the way down to the pins, where she finally manages to hit four out of the ten still standing. “yes!” she spins around in celebration, fists pumping in the air. “at last! duri, did you see?”
open starter for fmdsh2 - at the seongbuk european christmas market @ approximately 9PM
“anything i just have to try before this place closes down?” ash asked the person standing a few feet away from the spain booth he was about to approach. he surveyed the rows of red booths and could tell some of the booth runners were already beginning to pack up their food, so he wouldn’t have time to stop at every booth and taste what they had to offer, as much as the thought appealed to him. it was a consequence of having convinced management he needed as much time as possible to work in the studio instead of attending filming at the christmas market. it wasn’t that he hadn’t wanted to come, but he didn’t particularly care for spending more time on camera. by the time he’d arrived and had been made presentable for the cameras, he’d gotten in about thirty minutes total of filming time at the portion of the market stationed indoors before the crew had to begin packing up. now that he had some free time to explore without a camera pointed at him, he planned to actually enjoy himself for the hour he had left.
“i tried the christmas cookies in the hotel, but it’s kind of like you can get those anywhere, you know? i don’t have much experience with european food. call me a sheltered american.” ash shrugged and exhaled a laugh humorlessly, turning his attention from the thinning aisles of people back to the person to whom he was speaking. “i guess i should have asked if you’ve done the rounds yet or if you’re just getting started too first.”
