Hey! I'm a fellow Capoeirista. I love doing Capoeira, but I always have trouble not doubting myself when in class because everyone else in there is pretty fit. I'm a bit chubby, and not very strong, but one of my teachers said that if you're strong enough, you can get yourself to do any acrobatic move, and I really love my Floreios(even if I can barely do them haha.) Any ideas for what areas I should target or exercises I can do? Thanks so much!
What I find helps me most in Capoeira is dong the conditioning exercise a few times a week before practicing the moves that I know, as well as lots of stretching every day before bed.Β
Capoeira is also about control and being able to do things slowly, so try practicing floreios a few times a week after doing the conditioning exercises (assuming you are not going to class several times a week). And try practicing them slowly to give yourself time to think through the move and where every part of your body is placed and balanced.Β
