In many towns of Catalonia, the tradition for the holiday of Corpus is to decorate the streets of your town with flower petals. Social centres, neighbourhood associations, schools, and other groups get organized to be responsible for a street or part of a street. They choose that year's design, and set to making the flower carpets.
The other tradition that is an icon of Corpus celebrations in Catalonia is the ou com balla (roughly means "dancing egg" in the Catalan language). The egg is emptied through a tiny hole at the bottom, and the empty egg shell is placed on top of a fountain. The fountain is decorated with flowers and cherries, and the inhabitants go for a walk and nip in the garden to see how the fountain's stream makes the egg spin.
