The Dark Caves

Inspired by the death of Regulus Black. A character from Harry Potter who died being drowned by dark creatures.
I never thought water was capable of taking.
Of course in the back of my mind I knewÂ
but I never truly let the idea run through my head.
But now I know that as much as it gives to us it takes from us.
It takes away breathânot in a beautiful wayâ
but with an overwhelming cruel struggle.
Itâs also cold and terrifying
Much different from the sunlight I have learned to bask in.
No. Water is much more chilling
Its biting temperature grabs you and drags you down.
Deeper and deeper
Until you canât come back up.
