⤷ Growing up as the daughter of Lima’s only librarian, Mariem Jelassi often felt like an outsider. As one of the few Muslim students at McKinley, she spent years finding comfort in books, escaping into stories when the real world felt lonely. But everything changed when she became friends with Aoife Kelly, the artistic Irish exchange student, and Erin Sterling, the determined soccer player who never let anyone sit alone for long.

During Pride Month, the three friends volunteer to create a display in the school library celebrating diverse voices and stories. Surrounded by stacks of books and brown decorations symbolizing inclusivity and community, Mariem finds herself reflecting on how much her life has changed since meeting Aoife and Erin. What began as a shared lunch table grew into a friendship that helped all three girls feel understood and accepted for who they are.

As they spend the afternoon recommending books, sharing stories about their lives, and laughing over old memories, Mariem realises that the kind of belonging she’d spent years searching for in novels has been beside her all along.

The Terminator OC: Ally Steele

After being reprogrammed by a Resistance scientist of questionable sanity who died before he could explain his motivations, Ally, once a Terminator infiltrator sent to kill humans, was given a single objective- "Be Human". Her programmer gave her the alias Ally Steele, which is an intentional pun for "metal friend".

Even though it's the apocalypse, Ally has goals she has set in her objective of being as human as she can, despite being a machine, including learning how to frolic, developing opinions, picking flowers, and getting in at least one ill-advised relationship.

After nearly a decade of fighting with the Resistance, Ally was sent back in time to protect Brynn Willis, a college student studying to be a mortician and certified weirdgirl who would someday become a war hero and save John Connor's life that Skynet has sent a T-1000 after. Unfortunately, what Ally did not expect when she went back in time was to find herself strangely pulled to Brynn.

⤷ As Pride Month arrives in Hawkins years after the chaos of the Upside Down, Dana Mayfield - the fiercely protective older sister of Max Mayfield, finds herself reflecting on everything she and her loved ones have survived. The scars of loss, fear, and uncertainty haven’t completely faded, but they’ve made her stronger. When she spends a quiet evening with Robin Buckley, the two begin talking about how difficult it can be to carry old wounds while still trying to build a future.

Inspired by the black stripe of the Progress Pride Flag, symbolising resilience and remembrance, Dana and Robin decide to create a small memorial display honouring the people they’ve lost and the challenges they’ve overcome. As they work together beneath strings of fairy lights, the conversation turns from grief to hope, and they realise that healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means choosing to keep moving forward with the people you love by your side. What memories do they share, what fears do they finally voice, and how does the experience strengthen their relationship?
