What I'm thinking about the most right now are the two radio operators, Jack Phillips and Harold Bride, who stayed on even after the titanic started sinking a bunch so they could continue sending distress signals

Phillips was known for being super fast when sending messages and Bride was in his early twenties

Ahhhh they were both in their twenties, Phillips was 25 and Bride was 22

They worked until the messages were no longer going out, by which then one of them (Jack, i think?) went and turned off all of the machinery but it still short circuited anyway

We know this because of the molten pieces and scorch marks in the "quiet room" (where the heavy radio machinery was)

there were three rooms in that area, the quarters for those two, the quiet room, and then the radio room? I think? someone fact check me on that

Despite the short circuiting, gear remains pretty intact, probably because of how padded the room was, to prevent the spread of fires if there were any (which there was after it short circuited)

Only one of them survived, Jack Phillips passed with the ship

The interiors were suuuuper suuuuper cool, everything was considered state of the art and new, the wires round the radio room were all hidden in the walls, you can see some of the tubes now that the walls are gone

They had Turkish baths which i think was trying to make a comeback? It was either specifically Turkish baths or just communal baths in general

The titanic was the first ship to have heated pools which was cool!

Before leaving, one of the workers closed the water tight doors to the Turkish baths so the room filled up slowly so everything's we'll preserved, you can still even see the handprints tiles almost fully intact!

Some people might think that sharks live in the titanic which isn't true! Sharks do like lurking around ship wrecks but the waters where the titanic sank (north Atlantic ocean, close to newfoundland) is too cold for them, so i bet not many are swimming round there

Also also also, when the ship was going down it sunk pretty slowly in comparison to other wrecks, so a lot of it is still in its place! Like the dishes!!!!!

The lights were flickering as the ship sunk even more so everyone would be in darkness for hours until the other ships came

A lot of people died within minutes because of how cold the water was

A lot of the lifeboats weren't filled all the way so a lot more people could've been saved, there were also room for more boats but it shrouded the good looks of the ship so they didn't put them on
