anyway shoutout to the time i got lost in whole foods and had an existential crisis next to the bath salts
Lots of discussion of self-positivity on Tumblr. I’ve noticed that encouraging people to do their best gets mixed results, and I’m not going to act like “Just do you’re best!” motivates me or pulls me out of a mood slump when I’m in that slump, so I’ve decided it’s time to just embrace the ‘good-enough.’ I’ve come to accept that, yeah, I am better at this than some people. I might not be where I want to be, but to dismiss me completely would be too much.
I actually once entered a bad poetry competition to try to cash in with some real stinkers I wrote in my earlier years, but even those didn’t meet the (low) standard. This feels like a humblebrag or false modesty, but I don’t know how to explain my mixed feelings of disappointed, elated, and tickled that I actually failed at failing. I looked through the other submissions and wrote this piece afterward in response. I submitted this one as well, but at that point, I was just bowing out in style.
I was rewatching BL last night and certain plot bunnies returned en mass during the episode. I told myself I was going to start on the fic in the morning, but slept in (oops!). So now it's past noon and I haven't started. I have, however, managed to clean up after a cat and now I need to get my arse into gear so I can do a couple of chores and then I can (finally) get started on the fun stuff (writing).
Finally updated my tumblr header. It took a bit of cursing and muttering to get it to work - especially after the dimensions I specifically made it to (as per tumblr guidelines) were waaay off, but I got there. It still cuts off the last panel but the majority of it is showing so it’s gonna have to do.
*collapses in a heap*

Le Gasp!
I was going to write something very whiny about how my determined pantser tendencies means I have no idea how to finish this crack fic and its very sad and blah blah blah woe is me first-world problems.
And then I saw this gif. And this gif is the best fucking thing I have seen all day. It is everything right now. I want to take this otter in my arms and give it belly rubs while it dishes the dirt on whatever scandalous goings on are... going on out there.
I still don't know how to finish my bloody fic, but at least I would have an otter cuddle.
I also need to uphold my promise to spam @aristocratic-otter with ALL the otter things. So, here you go <3
i won a giveaway! but i think my shit wifi signal ate my reply -u- i will wait Two Days before seeking to confirm if my first message got to them

I make a lot of difficult decisions in the course of a workday. It’s a hazard of the job of an editor. (Please don’t look at the word choices in this post and judge me for them. This exercise doesn’t allow me to edit!) Commas used to give me a hard time, once upon a time. Now I can look at a sentence and say, usually, in a split second whether or not it needs one and where. Still, it’s a critical…
