getting back into writing and man this is hard. but like, the hard part of it to me is the fact that i KNOW what i want to evoke but not how to put the words i want into the combination to get it. like. the words "and we will never be alone again" SHOULD be soft and happy but somehow daft punk and that gay fuck made them the most melancholy lyrics of the 2010s
these came over me instantaneously
poetry tip: turn your profound thoughts and feelings into senses. if your chest aches when you dont feel good enough, and your poem is about not feeling good enough, my chest should ache when im reading it too. if your heart is empty when youve given up, my heart should also feel barren. dont just say "ive given up", then add a profound thought and expect people to relate. add senses. the senses dont necessarily have to describe a setting either. its not about that. the senses are used to describe the feeling. poetry isnt about saying things that make your readers say "mood" and then move on. poetry is about submerging your readers into a life, or experience, or feeling they havent lived yet. or maybe they have lived it. either way. poetry is evidence of being alive, not just deep thought.
Writing poetry like:
Does it have rhyme? No.
Does it have rythym or meter? No.
But at least it has vibes!

"Those soft brown Eyes do talk."
Eyes are loud.
Louder than the words.
Louder than the actions.
Eyes could make someone as vulnerable as her when she get lost in his eyes.
Those eyes,
Full of love.
Wrap her up in a other world
That make her forget about all the chaos around her.
They're just simple brown eyes.
Shinning more brighter than the stars in skies.
Love how her heart beat fastens when their eyes collide.
Those soft brown eyes do talk.
Trying to get published sucks. I've submitted so much poetry and i just keep getting rejections. I know my audience exists. Too many people have told me to my face, and on here, that they like my poetry for it to be untrue (unless all you nerds are lying >:( which isn't nice). So what are publications looking for? I'm out of ideas and feeling ready to give up. I just really thought something would pan out by now. Maybe i just have to wait for the other 10 or so poems i've sent out to get a response. I'll holler back at you in 6 months then lol
her
the walls breathe, and the silence plays tricks, whispering a fractured song inside your head.
she's gentle and her voice sounds like a melody, but it's not real, the words take shape, a chorus of shadows.
the stillness she's performing, suffocating absence.
a cruel reminder of what's lost, making your heart pound in protest.
the isolation settles, a chilling embrace, a terror that grips the soul.
the loneliness bares it's teeth, a frozen wasteland within, a nightmare that leaves you shivering, a torment you can't escape.
it's a hollow echo, a desolate expanse, her torment you can't endure.
that's loneliness.
her whispers, the silence, the cold.
a pestering reminder of the space between, the things you lost, now festering, a raw wound.
the way things are now, a twisted mockery, the way they might never be again, a truth that claws under your skin.
