#finding faults

There was a famous painter. Once he painted a beautiful painting and held it on a crossroad. Below the painting he mentioned a note, “Whosoever finds a mistake in the painting, may mark it down over the painting.”

When at the evening the painter returned and had a view of his painting. It was all destroyed as there were tons of marks on his painting. He was sad by the incident. He sat down thinking about the mistakes. He was wondering what to do, what mistakes he made and how to correct them. He was really feeling down. Suddenly one of his friend was passing by and looked at him. He inquired the reason for his friends sadness. The painter then narrated him the whole story.

Hearing the whole incident, his friend suggested to make a new painting and do the same thing, but this time he said you write down in the note the following lines: “Whosoever finds a mistake in this painting, may correct it.”

Next day, painter followed his friend’s advice. At the end of the day when he returned to view the painting, he found nothing marked on it. He now got the grasp of this world. He realized finding faults, back-biting, and demoralizing others is easy, whereas finding solutions for those faults or mistakes is far more difficult.

The moral of the story is never find fault in others, try to take out solutions and be creative to convert their mistakes into opportunities.
