Defying Gods
The world didn’t change that day
it was still burning all around me
and I wishing it would take me with it—
but then I met you.
Words exchanged
from souls reaching for each other
like they knew each other in past lives,
split apart by cruel fates
and crueler gods.
But something felt different.
The world may not have changed,
but my world did.
The world may have burned,
but I wanted to burn for you—
to be your spark,
to fight the gods,
to change our fates.
To worship you
as something that stands just as high.
I pray to your heart
and feel the spirit of your love
and am blessed by your Word.
And our souls may yet merge again,
vowing to never be split
in matrimony.
And if the gods come for us again,
they’ll have to tear the fire from our hands—
and even then,
they’ll burn.
Becoming obsessed with Providence Falls. Has anyone else seen it? I've only seen part one so far, but it's excellent.
If you like a mix of time travel, reincarnation, amnesia, fighting fate, toxic touch, and partners to lovers, this is for you!
73 - Too Close to the Sun
This will only end in catastrophe. I know this, yet still I am drawn to it, mesmerised by the very flame that will surely incinerate me.
Hold fast, my makeshift wings, as I fly from the shadows that are my birthright, and soar towards the sunlit heavens! Beat still, my brittle heart, though the stars are arrayed against me, and their glare might break us into dust! Destiny shan't take kindly to such flighty defiance, yet her gravitas shall not bind me here!
Burn, then, and let me blaze across the skies as a screaming comet which may pierce the very sun! Let me grasp at that celestial fire, and by its grace shall I know the fleeting glory of desire fulfilled at last - for what greater purpose can there be than to commune with the divinity that is love?
And then by passion's pitiless flame shall we be spent up, our charred husk plummeting into the quenching darkness below. Humbled by our hubris, longing tempered by shame, we may do naught but look on, at a world undone by a moment's thoughtless impulse.
Still it calls to me, still do I covet its purifying flames - for how sweetly we might sing, in the shadow of that sinful sun!

Fighting Fate: Chapter 6
The early morning sun peaked through the carved balcony as the fabric curtains swayed in the warm air. Zelda was this time the one who awakened first, she saw Ganondorf in a sound sleep, this time he seemed more relaxed than the last time. She carefully slipped off the bed careful not to wake him. She smiled to herself for a moment at how peaceful he looked. A huge difference from the mummified body she saw beneath the castle. She looked over to the door to the chambers and heard a faint knock. She walked up to it and opened it to see one of the royal guards.
"Good morning, Lady Zelda. I have some news for the King." The guard looked inside the room and sighed seeing he was still asleep.
"Well, I suppose it can wait till he wakes..."
The guard turned to leave but Zelda gave her a quick ahem
"...I actually wondered if I might ask for some help."
The guard looked at her and merely nodded.
"Could you show me to the kitchen...I wished to show him and Naboris my gratitude so I thought I would cook them breakfast."
"Of course."
She gestured for Zelda to follow her, leading down the stairs past the throne room and out to the training courtyard down to a large kitchen with no other people in sight. Luckily Zelda had some idea of what Gerudo liked. Urbosa herself was fond of honeyed stew with mixed fruit on the side along with a drink of her own making. One that she never even shared with Link.
"Thank you...Oh and please if he wakes up, let him know where I am. I would not want him to think or believe at all that I left."
'Oh course." the guard bowed her head striking her spear against the ground before leaving the room.
Zelda looked over the kitchen and smiled to herself as she took off the accessories she wore from Sonia, she started to prepare some ingredients for the stew grabbing some meat and vegetables. She smiled seeing how much fruit there was, glad to know she wouldn't run out.
She proceeded to finish preparing the meal, cutting up the meat. She always enjoyed cooking, even back when she lived in the castle she enjoyed cooking alongside Impa after her mother passed. Her favorite was the desserts, every so often sneaking out at night to give some to the servants after a long day. She recalled how she burned her finger once and Impa being the ever caring woman that she is, kissed the wound and bandaged it before giving her a snack before bedtime.
- a few minutes ago-
Ganondorf moved against the bed feeling no one in it though did make him awaken a bit suddenly as he realized that she was not in the bed. He woke up a bit groggily as he moved his hair out of the way and groaned. Looking around the room he saw that it was still morning and the sun was only a bit higher than he usually woke up to. He sighed as he stood up from the bed and saw the empty bed and wondered where she had gone. And for a moment in the bad of his mind, he did think the worst but that thought soon disappeared.
"Stop...we can't keep thinking like this..."
He stepped down the stairs to the salute of his guards when he saw Naboris walking up the stairs into the throne room. He noticed she was slightly roughed up and had her scimitar and shield with her.
"Early training?"
"Ah yes. After one must keep up with the best."
He smirked at her reply when one of the guards ran into the room.
"Ah King Ganondorf, General Naboris. I was looking for you earlier to let you know Lady Zelda is in the kitchen preparing a meal."
"A meal?"
"Yes, she wanted me to inform you immediately."
As the guard returned to her post, Naboris smirked once again this time crossing her arms and looking up at her brother.
"You seem pleased at the idea?"
He merely shrugged as he turned around away from her.
"Brother....Do be careful how you go from here on out. I know what you desire...but power is not the only way to help your people. Oh and let her know I will join you both later..."
Ganondorf looked over his shoulder at her as she leaned forward on one leg before walking off waving her hand in a simple gesture. He couldn't help but be a little annoyed with her. He knew what she meant and thought it was a bit of a insult but he knew she wasn't wrong. Every second he was around Zelda there was always an urge to harness her power, to gain or even take it for himself. But as much as that part of him wanted to. As long as she kept the agreement they had....he would fight it
-
After some time Zelda started to hum to herself as she prepared the side dishes and then the special drink. Well, more like the perfect drink. As she focused on finishing up, she hadn't noticed Ganondorf leaning against the archway watching her cook. He honestly couldn't help but smile as he watched her. Once again the simplest actions she did were just too innocent. Though it was of no surprise after all she was clearly a kind soul.
He smiled as it was clear all her focus was on the task at hand as she looked over the kitchen for the honey to glaze the meat. Looking above her she noticed it was in the cabinet though it was a bit higher than she could reach. She grabbed a nearby step stool and stepped up to grab it from the cabinet. As she reached up she managed to catch herself and sighed with relief as she placed the honey down on the counter. All she needed now was the pitcher above for the drink and she would be done.
She suddenly felt a small touch on her shoulder and jumped a bit as he leaned against the counter placing an arm around her to keep her balanced on the step stool.
"Ah, would you not do that?!" she said as she lightly smacked at his arm.
"I didn't mean to startle you...though I have to admit it was a bit funny."
"Oh you..." he smiled as he eyed the pitcher and easily lifted it off the hook and handed it to her."
"You were needing this right?"
She took the pitcher from him. Thanking him but acting still a little annoyed with him surprising her like that. Secretly trying to hide the blush on her cheeks.
"Need some help?"
"Oh no, I actually wanted to do this for you and Naboris. After all, you both welcomed me to your home...I felt like I should at least show some way to show my appreciation."
"You are far too kind for your own good."
"Well...I also was a bit hungry."
He smirked as he smelled the meal she had finished. It looked absolutely divine, the meal looked like it could bring the dead back to life. He was about to taste it before she lightly smacked his hand away. Much to his surprise.
"Ow. Thought this meal was intended for me and my sister was it not."
"It is but I need to finish the seasoning for it. Here since your here."
She took a small spoonful of the stew and gestured for him to try it. He tasted it and he was slightly taken aback. It was beyond delicious, in truth he wasn't sure if it was normal food or handmade by the goddesses.
"Is it no good?"
"No no...I mean...it's quite delicious. Never tasted anything like this before." he said as he noticed her beaming smile. She was pleased he enjoyed the meal, and yet she couldn't help but be surprised at how much he liked it. Then again she remembered how Urbosa was when it came to her physique, it was possible their diet was a lot different to Hylians. After all, she knew many that would eat meat at all.
"Really? It's not too sweet is it?"
He smirked to himself as his eyes traced over her lips for a quick second before returning his gaze to her for a moment.
"Ahem... No, but I can think of something a bit sweeter." He said leaning a bit closer as he brought an arm above his head as placed his hand down to the side of her slightly trapping her leaning his head down as he spoke softly.
"I must admit Lady Zelda...it is quite a nice gesture. Perhaps I should repay you."
Zelda's cheeks turned a bright red and her ears felt a bit warm as she looked around trying to gather her thoughts.
"I don't...I don't know. Really you shouldn't have to worry about repaying me."
"And if I want to." He said bringing his lips a bit closer.
"Someone might see..." she said placing a hand on his chest. He couldn't help but notice the blush on her became more vibrant.
"Very well...then at least accept this."
He leaned his head up a tad as he kissed her cheek. It was gentle and a little ticklish from his facial hair. She felt her cheeks were now as hot as the lava from death mountain. When a sudden ahem made him look past Zelda to see Naboris appearing in the archway from the training grounds with a smug look on her face.
"Am I Interrupting?'
Ganon groaned to himself before moving his arm as he took the stew from the stove and winked at Zelda making her bring her attention back as Naboris spoke to Ganondorf.
"Well, dear brother. What do you have planned for the day? Or are you both preoccupied?"
"Ah, Naboris...we weren't going to do anything...you...you shouldn't tease me so."
"Ah well then, if my illustrious leader has no problem training later on in the day."
"It's not really training if you've never had anyone beat you. Is it sister?"
"Oh ho ho ho. You really think you're the winner here. Don't forget brother you have lost to me many times."
"When I was a child Naboris. Since then you have yet to beat me."
"Why you-" Naboris was about to say something but stopped when Zelda placed a spoonful of stew in her mouth stopping her in her track. Naboris shuttered a bit and looked completely enthralled for a moment before looking down at her.
"That...did you make this?"
"Yes..."
Naboris looked at Ganondorf who smirked as he took a sip from his drink knowing all too well that Zelda was now gonna have to worry about cooking every time. Naboris quickly gathered up her portion as well. After a somewhat quiet meal, apart from the every-so-often bickering from them. Zelda did enjoy her peaceful moment with them. But she couldn't help but think about the kiss Ganondorf had given her...and if she was being honest to herself she liked it.
-Present day-
Link had arrived late into the night at the tower near the castle and saw Purah speaking to Impa. He dismounted from his horse looking at the castle. Once again his thoughts wondered to if he would ever see the castle in its prime again. When he looked up at the balcony to the research room he heard Purah.
"Link get up here. We have an absolutely fantastic idea."
Link ran up the stairs and gathered himself as he saw Impa smile at him as Purah overlooked his new armor from the Zora. He signed to them.
"Please tell me this is about Zelda and not an experiment you have."
"Oh, Link you give me too much credit. Look we found might have an idea of how you can activate the stones. Our records of the Hyrulian family show no record of them but we think if you can help the Goron and the Gerudo with their stones then we can activate them and see what they are hiding."
"But what about Zelda." he signed looking at Impa.
"We still have no news from anyone if they have seen her but we did find something in the halls underneath the castle. They seem to be carvings that are different from the ones you and the princess found when the Demon King awoke."
"Different? How?"
"While the photos she took depicted the Demon king attacking the Hyrulians now there are two figures, one that looks similar to the Demon king and the other a figure of the same build and size but instead bears no stone. And there is a carving of what looks to be a Gerudo and Hylian wedding."

Everyone knew you were upset from the hard clack-clack-clack of your fingers jabbing away at your keyboard. You looked up to wish Bubble Girl a good night on her way out. You smiled, but it looked more like you were baring your teeth. The two of you usually walked to the subway together. But not today. Bubble Girl got to go home on time. You got to transcribe case files from the Bronze Age. Lucky.
You risked a glance up from your computer screen. Sasaki was still staring at you. Or was he staring through you? Was he looking into your future right now? What was he seeing? You tried to ignore him as he'd been ignoring you these past few days, but you couldn't. All roads led back to Nighteye. The interns should be back from patrol soon. Would they be staying overtime too, or would it just be you and your domineering, soon-to-be-ex boss? It was a school night, so Deku would have to be sent home. Lemillion had recently graduated, so it was possible Sasaki would make him stay, too. As infuriating as he was, the thought of you and Sasaki having the whole office to yourself brought... possibilities. Your eyes flicked to the tickle torture machine. Your mouth suddenly felt dry.
Wondering where she is
