Wow, it seems like only yesterday that a couple of bright-eyed, bushy-tailed fans announced the first JayTim Week. While those founding mods have since moved on, the ship week itself is still chugging along just as strong as everāa whole decade later!
We had a lot of grand ideas while brainstorming for this year's JayTim week. There have been a lot of events (sometimes more than one in a year!), in a lot of different ways (longtime fans will remember the epic JayTim BINGO Month of 2019), and over the years we've had a heckuva lot of prompts. Why not pull on all that history to make something unique and special?
This year, JayTim "Week" will span 10 whole days, from June 19th through June 28th, 2026āone day for each year. To pick prompts for each day, our dedicated mods compiled the past prompts (all 301 of them), weeded out the repeats, and randomly divided them between the 10 days. Then, to mix things up a bit more, we made a picker wheel for each day.
To decide on your prompt(s) each day, simply spin the wheel and let fate decide. Since we don't have a free day this year, each wheel also includes a Free Day!, bringing the total number of possible options for each day up to a whopping 25 prompts (wow)!
Day 1 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 2 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 3 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 4 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 5 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 6 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 7 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 8 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 9 Prompt Picker Wheel
Day 10 Prompt Picker Wheel
The sidebar of the event blog has been updated and includes a page with the above prompt picker wheel links for easy reference, as well as a list of frequently asked questions. If you have questions, please check that page first! If you canāt find your answer, please donāt hesitate to reach out to us via our Ask Box.

{Day 1: Soulmate Aversion, Borrowed Shirt | Day 2: Secret Admirer, House Party | Day 3: Mermaid AU, College}
Timās choking on his own blood, unable to do anything except gurgle as Jason carves his knife into his chest.
No, Timothy thinks hazily, please, no.
In the dark of night alone in Drake Manor he had put a hand over his mark and hoped that one day he wouldnāt be alone. On top of crumbling roofs beside Batman he would think of the soulmate on the other side who would give him something other than Robin to live for. When facing death he clung to his Bo staff and fought harder at the chance to live another day to avoid giving his match a dead soulmate.
Now, heās more worried about losing the only piece of himself that isnāt living in the memory of Jason Todd; Of losing the connection to his soulmate and finally being stripped of anything Tim.
The knife cuts a flap of skin away and stabs beneath shallowly, slicing above the muscle of Timās pectoral.
āDid you think I would let you keep this?ā Red Hood asks.
How is this man the same boy Timothy had mourned?
He understands his anger, his pain, his hunger for vengeance for the boy who replaced himā but he canāt fathom the cruelty that comes with the act of skinning off his soulmate mark.
The horrified confusion must show on his face because Red Hood pauses, looking up from his masterpiece.
āOhā¦ā the chuckle Jason lets out is terrifying. āYou thought I would let you keep this? Youāve already replaced me, youāre not getting to keep me too, soulmate.ā
Timothy feels like heās floating above his body as he watches Jason rip the stained flap of skin off his chest while simultaneously tearing apart the last thing he believed in.
It would only be fitting for him to die now, he thinks, now that he finally has nothing left.

Kappa Piās party is already in full swing by the time Caroline Hill has lost her heels and gained a delightful buzz. Sheās played a round of beer pong, danced with a few frat bros, and trauma dumped a sad story about having no family in the states. If someoneās looking for their next victim, itās going to be Caroline.
āHeeeeey Cariā Caroline! Howāre you liking the par-tay?ā Carolineās gracious Kappa Pi friend asks and she sidles up to the blonde girl drunkenly.
Caroline giggles conspiratorially, gesturing to where a few frat bros are loitering by the beer pong table. āIām liking it a lot. Who knew frat boys get hotter when youāve been drinking?ā
āHah, Iām pretty sure everyone gets hotter after a few shots.ā Kappa Pi girl (Izzy? Issa?) snorts.
Caroline is about to ask I-name if sheās heard any rumors about the last girl to go missing when sheās interrupted by the drunk girl continuing on, āYou shouldnāt even entertain these boys when you have a real man after you. Did you get any more of those sexy letters from Mr.Secret-Admirer?ā
Right, Tim thinks. His secret admirer who had started stalking him around campus a week after he first arrived. A few gifts and letters left in less private areas had caught a few peopleās attention before he could remove them and rumors have subsequently spread. It ended up being how Caroline Hill got the attention of some of Kappa Piās members.
Anyone hot enough to be stalked was hot enough to party with them, essentially.
āNot really⦠only a few flower bouquets since the last time we talked.ā Tim lies. āI promised I would tell you if anything of note happens, didnāt I?ā
I-name deflates a bit and pouts before she brightens with an idea. āIf Mr.Secret Admirer isnāt staying up to date on his gifts maybe getting with a frat bro will make him jealous.ā
Attempting to make a stalker jealous was not only incredibly dangerous but not what Tim is going for. Caroline doesnāt say this out loud, but she does seem put out by the suggestion.
āI donāt thinkāā
āCaroline?ā A masculine voice interrupts from behind them.
The two inebriated young women turn.Ā
A man that Timothy canāt help but immediately nickname āBradley Chadleyā once he looks him up and down towers over them. Bradley Chadley matches the extremely small and objectifying beauty standards of the āAll American Dream Boyā. Heās got the height, is the muscular side of toned definition (especially in the upper body), and a perfect smile with white teeth and deep dimples. A real lady killerā potentially an actual murderer too.
āYes?ā Caroline asks, slightly breathless from the sheer attractiveness oozing off the man.
And thatās how Tim knows heās caught a bug in his trap. Being surrounded by superheroes and vigilanteās all the time is like a 24/7 modelling show. Thereās no way Timās being affected by Bradley Chadley without some sort of supernatural intervention.
āMr.Simmons told me you were the person to go to if I needed help with this weekās Kinesiology project, the best exercise for strengthening your glutes with the least amount of muscular stress.ā Bradley Chadley gives Caroline an appreciative once over, not objectifying enough to be icky, but slow enough to make her flush. āAnd I see why he did, you seem to be already putting your knowledge into practice.ā
Like a āgirls girlā, Izzy/Issa slips away with a shit eating grin and a long look at Bradley Chadleyās behind.
āHahā thanks.ā Caroline says, light headed as she tries to stay focused. āWhat do you need help with?ā
Bradley Chadley shrugs sheepishly, āHonestly Iām pretty unsure about the whole project, including how to start. Iāve always been focused on the fastest results regardless of the amount of stress as long as it doesnāt cause immediate damage. Kind of short sighted, yāknow?ā
It is in fact short sighted, but his self-awareness is charming.
āHow would you like me to help then? I can try to fit you into my schedule in return for a favor or two.ā Caroline flirts subtly, batting her long lashes up at her mark.
Bradley Chadley looks positively pleased by Carolineās feigned interest. āWhat about now? The party seems to be quieting down and my Greek House is about to dip. We could stop by one of the labs and catch up on some studying together?ā
āNow?ā Caroline pretends to play coy, āI mean⦠just us, alone?ā
Bradley Chadley scratches the back of his neck nervously, āYeah. If thatās ok with you?ā
āUh-huh. That works.ā Caroline grins, biting her plush bottom lip.
The blonde manās face changes ever-so slightly as if heās thinking āgotchaā, a predator thinking itās caught its prey.Ā
āGreat, we can head out now.ā
Not even a minute into their walk across the campus after theyāve said their goodbye does Bradley Chadley start up conversion (and Tim begins to wish he had asked their name before it had become too long for the question to be appropriate).
āSo, how do you feel about biology?ā Bradley Chadley asks out of nowhere.
Caroline blinks in surprise. This isnāt the conversation topic she thought this himbo would come up with.
She follows up, āBiology? Human biology?ā
A new expression shifts across Bradley Chadleyās face. Itās one Tim recognizes from the reflection of himself in the mirror; obsession.
āI know thatās the focus of the class weāre in, but Iāve always been intrigued by the bodily science of fantastical creatures.ā
Itās not where Tim expected the conversation to go, once again heās caught unaware and finds himself scrambling to understand the intricacies of this unexpected social interaction. All at once Timothy is reminded of being young and chided for smiling too big or not knowing the appropriate amount of space to leave before speaking.
āLike Superheroes?ā Caroline asks, looking up at Bradley Chadley with innocent bewilderment.
āLike fairytales.ā He corrects.
The car thatās been following them a block down rolls past the stop sign without a care. Itās an offblack, beat up truck with a windshield so tinted a cop would have to write the driver up for it if they saw.
Caroline hums thoughtfully, āIāve never really had the time to think about it to be honest. It does sound interesting though.ā
āIām glad you think so.ā

The one outcome that Jason had not realized when he started the 'Book of Matches' project is that Tim and Damian ended up getting along so, so well to the point where even Bruce started to be concerned.
If asked, Jason would admit that it was his fault. He decided that neither Tim or Damian have enough imagination powers to make plots - unlike Dick who has enough imagination for six people, or his ability to bridge the scenes in Dick's brain using words; and therefore they are assigned to create the artwork. He'd figured that with Tim's background in photography, and Damian's background in painting, they would kill each other before book 1 was finished.
They did not. Their artwork consisted of a random-yet-involved photo with either digital or conventional paint overlay or a collage of photos with hand-painted frames. ā¦Or at least that's what Jason heard from the two of them when they first explained it to him in a jumble of words like 'exposure', 'ISO', 'laminate', 'etching' - and stuff like that. Whatever those means. The end result was quite fascinating, a little difficult to mass-print to the point where Damian had demanded Bruce to buy him a customized printing press specifically for the job of printing the first thousand copies of the first book.
No, Bruce did not give him a printing press, he instead acquired a small print company and upgraded their machine. They have been exclusively printing Matches' books on order since then.
"Are you sure they will not maim each other on the way there?" Bruce asked, right after Tim's car left the driveway.
Jason rolled his eyes as Dick snorted a laugh.
"Bruce, they're going to Bret's for photography and art supplies. They're not going to the Middle East to start world war three!" Dick quipped.
"I may consider being more⦠or less antsy if they were going to start a war against somebody else, though," Bruce mused whimsically. "Alas, I didn't raise psychopaths. So how's your book going, Jay?"
Jason sighed dejectedly. "It's⦠going. Those two decided that since I've reached three-quarters of the book, they should start the artwork." he said.
"The problem is that we haven't found an ending." Dick pointed out.
"No, no, no. I have found an ending. Richard here didn't like the ending and wants it to be a little moreā¦" Jason waved his arms dramatically. "ā¦colorful!"
"Well, yeah! Your ending is such an anticlimax the sun went back to sleep!"
"It's called a noir genre, Richard, it's not supposed to have extraterrestrials in it!" Jason snapped. Dick and Bruce exchanged glances. "Oh, no. No no no no no. I am not putting aliens in my book!"
Bruce cleared his throat, a little hesitantly. "Well, I have only read the outline, so I can't comment on the details. I don't think that the ending is bad, just a little cliffhanger-y, I think? Why did the dame insisted that Matches was her soulmate when she'd been married to Harvey for so longā¦"
"People change? Also there's the disfigurement accident?" Jason offered. "Oh, he's now Henry, not Harvey. And she's Josie."
"They split long before the accident happened, which was why she was suspected in the first place?" Bruce countered. "And why can't Matches find evidence that she was the culprit? Even with clouded judgement, Matches should be able to find something, not nothingā¦"
"Somebody else covered her tracks?" Jason reasoned. "Oh, and also, he's back at being a lawyer."
"Who?"
"I⦠don't know yet⦠āBut definitely not aliens!"
"Harvā sorry, Henry was a prosecutor, now a corporate litigation lawyer - which is another word for white collar criminal lawyer. He would know a lot of criminals from all levels of life. Yet his first thought was his ex wife, and because he assumed Gilā uh, what was the ex wife's name?"
"Josie," Dick replied. "yeah, but this is the guy with like, 98% win rate."
"How many of the 98% are from his prosecutor days?"
Dick and Jason exchanged glances. "Quite a lot. But you've got to remember that Alsets usually come with built-in camera and motion sensor alarms. A stranger would not be able to get near without getting photographed and said photo would be sent to the cloudsā¦" Dick explained.
"No, not true. I've actually broken in to several Alsets just for kicks. Their cams are literally placed in the same places - no backup cams. You spoof one, you can spoof them all. And I didn't mention if Josie was seen in the cloud pic storage or not."
"You've done what now??" Bruce demanded.
Jason shrugged nonchalantly. "Hey, it pays to keep one's skills sharp, especially with the new car models."
Bruce sighed. "Just let me know if you need bail money," he remarked dryly. "Still remains the question of how did Henry's Alset get sabotaged."
"Maybe Matches was the one sabotaging it?" Dick said. "Matches didn't mention how long it had been since he'd last seen Henry."
"He didn't, did he? Should I put in a few years or something? How long would it take for a 3rd degree burn wound to heal, anyway?"
"with modern technology and skin grafts, a year. Maybe not 100%, but it would not be a harsh disfigurement enough to make people wince," Bruce inhaled. "You are hitting it far too close to home, by the way."
"I'm planning to actually go to Harvey before I publish and have his thought. I'm absolutely willing to pay him, too."
"Yeah, I thought you would. Don't give him more than 5%, he's still incarcerated and isn't allowed to profit from his crimes."
"Yeah, this is still Gotham and I'm sure Harv still has financial backup stashes all over the rats' hole in this city."
"Those are his assets," Dick replied lazily. "Bruce meant income, if you pay him, that's an income. As a lawyer, he should know of this, but never hurts to remind him just in case."
"In case he unleashed hi goons to put a twin bullet in my head?"
"Yeah, that, too."
"He's notā¦" Bruce caught himself and smirked. "Okay, maybe he would. But knowing Harvey, he'd be honored to be in there."
Jason groaned and stretched, "yeah, well, all things considered, at least I can be sure that the artwork for this book is gonna be stellar. Tim and Damian teaming up.. 'chef's kiss'!"
"Would also be a massive treat for the fans," Dick nodded.
"ā¦or rift-breaker ā we're literally the only novel writers who are constantly on display in tabloids!" Jason snickered. "I wonder what their headlines would be once somebody catch Tim and Damian in the same storeā¦"
"'Breaking News: Tim and Damian Wayne spotted buying art supplies! Has Tim broken his ties with Jason?? Read it all on page 2!'"
"Page 2 is international newsā¦" Bruce interjected absently. "Page 9 is tabloid."
"Everybody know Tim is loyal to me, you jerk - unlike you two himboes," Jason stuck out his tongue.
"By the way, what did Matches found when he investigated Harvā Henry's car?" Bruce asked, a little incongruously.
"I told you, nothing!" Jason replied.
"But you said that Alset take photos of every human face and send it to the cloud account it's related to."
It finally dawned on Dick. "Was the cloud account empty?"
Now it clicked on Jason. "Damn, guys.." he pulled out his tablet and skimmed through. "Chapter 5, Matches told Henry that the cloud was empty." he admitted. "So external third-party it is. But still don't imply extra terrestrial activity!"
"This is Hagmoth, though, you can take your pick between extra-terrestrial to extra-normal to paranormal," Dick pointed out.
Jason glared at him scathingly. "Fine, I'll sleep on this and see which one of Hagmoth's ne'er-do-well would strike me. Hell, maybe even Tim's idea of making Matches the bad guy!"
Me: I will write a nice, brief, stuck in an elevator during a heatwave smut for jaytim week
Also me: but what if it was not smut, but instead it was subdrop brought on by traumatic backstory adjacent claustrophobia with longing and friends to rivals in a d/s verse...

Serious/anxious brain looks down upon your innocent sleeping form.
Brain: JayTim Week is coming.
You lying in bed, innocent and unconcerned, determined to be unbothered by your brain's anxious mutterings.
You: It's not until June, I have plenty of time.
Brain now stares straight ahead, the shadows under its eyes apparent.
Brain: It is already May.
You lie awake in the dark, your eyes bright pinpoints of panic in the dim. Your brain is right. You have only two short months (less, really) to prepare. It is coming. IT IS COMING.
